Murrumbeena getting a few Mazenod players (Ammo C grade) last year's captain one of them. I think he has a gym or something close by.

What teams have recruited well? From social media it looks like east Brighton have got a few good players who’d be on big $$ but Doveton have also added to an incredible list, is it Dovetons to loose ?

East Brighton with what they have picked up should win it in a canter.
Doveton will be 2nd best once again with Keysborough, Highett, Caulfield and East Malvern rounding out the battle for the top 5. Murrumbeena will go ok coming up a section, but may be slightly off the pace.
I see on the fixture Hampton Park are scheduled to play out at a random oval in Cranbourne West……surely this is going to disrupt their season and recruiting opportunities!

All of this info I’ve just seen from social media so no inside scoop but haven’t seen much out of keysborough except Carnelly retired.
Caulfield have a new playing coach in Dunn which should boost them up too.
Highett picked up Dino from St Paul’s and half of old Mentone which a few look very handy in D2 which will make them very interesting .
Looking at East Brighton they defiantly have added 3-4 A graders from MPFNL + Semmel and their top end was good last year.
Murrumbeena coming up will be hard to judge but have added Daniel Willis and Jordan Pollard who if fit would be the best two players in the division by a long way so will just depends if the rest of their list can adjust to the division change.
My prediction is that Doveton, East Brighton, Highett, Caulfield and Murrumbeena will be the 5.

Who have Doveton added to their list? I had them about 6-7 goals better off than the Vampires at the end of last season, but I’m lead to believe East Brighton have picked up 10 genuine senior players that would walk into any side, 5 which will be stars in this competition. Having won the Reserves grade last season this will only add considerable depth to their list…..which considering their 2’s were the laughing stock of SFNL football for a long time, would be very short odds of going back-to-back.

Doveton added Lachlan Moss & Nick Pincott who both have VFL senior experience and a few from Naree Warren and agreed East Brighton reserves paying $1.01

Good players those 2 but not sure they’ll be the best players by a long way
Doveton were the best side last year and tipping Chelsea to be relegated again

Big call saying the 2 recruits to beena will be the best 2 players in the comp by a long way
Anyway beena look like they have recruited very well as Div2 looks very competitive and even
Doveton probably favourites, Skye and-black rock bottom 2,can’t split the other 7 all fighting for the other top 4 positions
Doveton stated they only wanted to play Div 2 for 1 year so I’m assuming they’ll go super hard this year to avoid over promoting themselves for another year
Caulfield and keysborough have experienced and older bodies which will be well suited and competitive in Div 2 again , both have proven excellent Div 2 players
HPark jury out, stacked their 2s side for finals and came up well short in the GF
Highett could surprise everyone again like they did in 2019
Have gained many players at the expense of old mentonians

East Bri will announce 2 big key forward signings this week who should be the best 2 big forwards in the comp-that should have them finishing top 3
East Malvern are unknown
Early call but atm I predict
Diveton
Caulfield
East Bri
Keysey
Murrumbeena
Highett

East Malvern
Hampton Park

Skye
Black rock

Don’t think it will affect Hampton park to much a fair few from the club live out that way and they have recruited ok considering they won’t be playing at home 3 from Berwick 2 senior fringe players from noble park as well dalton who played rep football up west gippy league and Stanton who played vfl at north melb pus a couple of others coming back that went elsewhere but I think east Brighton and Doveton will be well ahead of everyone at this stage

That’s good to hear they have picked a few up. I watched them a few times last year and I thought they really battled even though they just missed the finals. Good for the competition that we will have another decent side.

Highett might be able to pick up the remaining from Old Mentonians as it's being reported on the VAFA pages that they are officially finished and will only be running a woman's side in 2023.

Take back my comments on the Murrumbeena recruits .
Tom Lamb and Nick Corp ! Wowzerr

Lamb is a monster at this level if he is fit and Nick Corp would be a close 2nd to Irving of St Kilda as best CHF in southern.

East Malvern recruit morrisby may trump the lot of them as a key forward
I know east Brighton spoke with him before he decided to sign with EM
Div 2 looks a really strong competition this year, my reckoning 7 sides with legitimate premiership aspirations
Sides that finished 5-7 last year looking far stronger than last season, and sides that finished above them also looking stronger
Skye always competitive and black rock won the Div 3 flag so know how to win
Without Heatherton this year, no easy games

Rightio lads, let’s have a crack at the ladder no?
Doveton
Caulfield
East Brighton
Old Mentone
Murrumbeena
East Malvern
Hampton Park
Keysborough
Skye
Black Rock

To be honest, I have no idea. Just wanting to point out that this season will be a ripper with every team a chance of winning on the day

What's the reasoning for having East Malvern in a relegation battle? Know something we don't???

Didn’t you in one of your earlier posts suggest e Malvern would struggle
Bit more confident now?
Personally think Skye and black rock will finish bottom 2
Sides finishing 6/7 this year would finish top 3 in previous years
Div 2 definitely closing gap on Div 1 at this stage
