We are playing really badly at the moment but lets ignore that for the moment as what i am really worried about this game is how the Swans players are reacting to each other.

So far today we have seen Shaw and Goodes yell at each other (blaiming each other) and according to the commentators McVeigh and Mattner were arguing loudly as well. We are not playing team football.

This is not the way the Swans have done in recent years and its a worry that some players (not all) seem to be playing selfish football.

Does anyone else agree?

i agree, but thats because you were winning and executing plans, i really dont think sydney have enough talent across the park, and thats because you have been up for so long, and now too much is being left to too few ie Goodes, bolton, O'keefe, Shaw, Mcveigh and its just pissing them off

can we not have a negative thread every week...

And to reply to you RUNVS things get heated on a field, hell I'm a screaming physco when ever I play sport and I get frustrated but after the game you calm down.
Don't think theirs anything in it .... Everyone gets annoyed at things...

I'm screaming at the TV especially Sydney for being Shitney but I doesn't mean that I don't like them any less..

+1

Dont read too much into all of the yelling at each other. Passionate guys who want to win and hate losing. Rhyce has done it quite a few times this year when he yells at a team mate when something goes wrong. Passion, thats all it is.

Worrying signs?

Barlow has come of age IMO, two great games in a row, and a game saving mark that certainly showed he's anything but soft anymore.

Smith could be in line for a RSN somewhere down the line this season with the way he's going, another outstanding game today, really like the way he's playing, and also took some hard marks.

Hanners played a ripper, 18 disposals for his second game was absolutely outstanding.

Grundy, what can be said, 26 disposals off half-back, very effective, and seems to have found his home.

White a little more dissapointing, was well held all day, very dissapointed with him from a DT point of view (22 points! :thumbsd:) but seemed to not be focussed on as much with the delivery, and Melbourne always seemed to be choking up the F50 so that may have come into it.

I'm not really talking about the peformances of players but rather how players are reacting to each other. Goodes and Shaw yelling at each other and Mattner and McVeigh arguing is not a good thing.

RUNVS its just a spur of the moment thing. If anythin you should be stoked their honest with each other. But I see nothin in it.

think another thing is that it was a really dull boring game and they were all bored shitless they needed to create some sorta entertainment

I've played plenty of competitive sport and i know that teams work best when everyone is supportive of each other. In fighting is never a good thing as the performance of the team as a whole suffers.

Clearly haven't. I get massive sprays each week in my now infamous soccer matches if I stumble, and give them out to guys that don't lift their eyes and see I'm free for a pass. Everyone cops it if they do something wrong. Any sport played properly will have emotions brewing on the surface, and it's better to let someone know than to hold it in. Shaw was within his rights to stand up for himself when Goodes gave him a spray, because Goodes wasn't leading, so Shaw let him know.

It happens in every team, every week, in every game. The commentators just highlight that sort of stuff so they can pretend they've given us some great insight as to what's going wrong.

And any wonder Goodes' body language was poor, the delivery to him, White and O'Loughlin was shitful all afternoon. I'd be pissed too.

I've played competitive sport most of my life (Soccer, Cricket, Rugby League) and i know that when a team is harmonious they play better than if they wee at each others throats.

When Shaw gave Moore a spray earlier in the year you all tore him a new one on this forum but when Goodes is the offender nobody seems to have a problem with it.

My main point is that in good/great teams those sort of arguements do not happen.

Wow, some depressing Swans supporters on this forum. We didn't play well but they are hardly worrying signs. If the youngsters were struggling every week it would be worrying but they have all performed at stages over the past month. The signs are good in my opinion.

Hudgho and Maguire were at the centre of a famous one last year and now they're 17-0. Maybe we should do it more and we could follow in their footsteps?

more meditation sessions for everyone, yay

anyway it's a little a bit of frustration, it happens in games.... hopefully players will gain something out of it eg communication, information for similar scenarios in future etc.

we won though, so who cares, unless they are gonna make a habit out of the frustration
