Interesting that some of B52s songs went for over 20 mins and they wrote down lyrics on a wall.

I didn't know simple minds didn't write don't you believe about me.

I don't believe Johnson wrote songs fresh on back in black.
They reakon Bons lyic lasted to flick in the switch .

That's just me.

Agreed. Back in Black had Bon's lyrics all over it. His style was unique.

Yet he got not credit for it .
But Johnson got credit for songs.

They went away for 2 weeks as if Johnson wrote all them in 2 weeks.

Bons dad gave the boys his blessing to keep going with the band.
But they can't give bon credit for the songs...

Sad what happened to Bon.

Would of love loved to hear the back in black album sang bye him.

Johnson ok but he's no bon.

Theres AI of Bon singing SMANL. Sounds tacky but also a glimpse of what it woulda sounded like.

Some people comment that this song is the inspiration for the Pharrell Williams tune "Happy". I can't hear it myself, apart from having the same song title and the general feel good vibe, maybe there is little bit in the melody.

Velvet Hammer were a disco project put together by R&B legend Andre Williams in 1977, reuniting with a Chicago vocal harmony group he had managed in the late 60's called "The Green Berets" who recorded 3 singles. Their name being suggested to them by Williams prior to any involvement in military service but ironically they had to split up when each member was subsequently called up for duties in Vietnam.

A.I is getting scarily good. I remember when so-shit-its-funny prank soundboards were in their infancy (sites like ebaumsworld) but these days AI robot voices will be putting out their own albums and doing gigs by hologram.

I’m hearing ya. Crazy times. But also sad that true talent is no longer needed. Auto tune is bad enough

Miss You by the Stones -early 1978 v D'Ya Think I'm Sexy by Rod Stewart late 78 - the bass is quite similar. Apparently Rod pinched the melody and strings from two other songs but looks like he acknowledged them?

More than a feeling guitar riff sounds a lot like holy grail, hunters and collectors to me.
Yes! Just listening to Holy Grail today the intro is so close!

Deep Purple's "Child in Time" first appeared on an album released in 1970--this song appeared on an album released in 1969.

Dohh link not working and can't remember the song for sure but I think it was Bombay Calling by It's A Beautiful Day. Very similar
Edit - ahh right reading the comments on the clip DP had an agreement with the group to use it and let them use one of theirs

Ooh yeh, very similar.

The very first 2 seconds, It's very similar. I'm not saying it's a rip off which I think this thread is intended but it sounds similar.
Yes can hear that a bit

The one I recognize the most is the ending riff in Home by Depeche mode and Black by Pearl Jam. Almost exactly the same except the last part of the progression.
Was there any court battle there?

Pearl jam clearly had a better career.
