They aren't doing that losing these two, May and McVee

I'm surprised they went with that angle, would've been a lot easier to just acknowledge a reset of the list as most Melbourne supporters have wanted for a while.

Nah, he wants to do a mini rebuild and play youth. If they can do that, clear the excessive contracts off their books, they have the ammo to lure 24, 25yo players in their prime to the club. Its a smart strategy really.

It also seems like it would be a far easier deal to get done as Melbourne just want him off their books. Besides us, what other clubs would be a good fit? We have also put a lot of work into Oliver since 2023, which would be ahead of most clubs

Petracca is more polish and inside too

Happy with either but certainly not upset if we miss out on Trac and get Clarry

Next year when he is OOC they don't really get a say... IMO the draw of home and the big money we will offer will be too hard to refuse. He would out and out be our no1 target next year and would have to take significant unders to stay in QLD

I think I like Trac more as a player and can be a damaging mid but can easily sit at FF for us too.

But Oliver as the contested bull is what we are screaming for. If (and that is usually the key word in these situations) he can find even 70% of what he was doing a couple of years ago it'll be a massive win for us. If we are able to shake him loose from the Dees.

I warmed up to Trac more once I saw he was meeting with us. I hope Trac nominates us/GC ASAP, would love for us to go hard for Oliver if Trac nominates GC
