I'm surprised they went with that angle, would've been a lot easier to just acknowledge a reset of the list as most Melbourne supporters have wanted for a while. What happened to King's stance of "we feel we can contend for a premiership again" or whatever he said.
They aren't doing that losing these two, May and McVee

Yes , was originally our plan A until Petracca popped upViva la Mattner said the Crows were still exploring Oliver as an option if Petracca didn't eventuate. Doesn't feel like he would be a good fit at Geelong, they've got enough inside bulls.

And just like that we move on...Both Petracca and Oliver on the outs at Melbourne. Both players on stupid length high priced contracts that take them well into their 30s. Coincidence?
It also seems like it would be a far easier deal to get done as Melbourne just want him off their books. Besides us, what other clubs would be a good fit? We have also put a lot of work into Oliver since 2023, which would be ahead of most clubsYes , was originally our plan A until Petracca popped up
As said they parked it while going after Petracca, I think we find we pivot back to Oliver if we miss out
which is fine with me

Next year when he is OOC they don't really get a say... IMO the draw of home and the big money we will offer will be too hard to refuse. He would out and out be our no1 target next year and would have to take significant unders to stay in QLDYou can offer the Lions all you like, they arent letting him go.

AgreeI’m ok with Oliver, younger, suits us more, will cost less
Correct and our club has put in the work into getting a deal done before too, so Oliver knows we are seriousNone
Well none in contention, Geelong would but they have Worpel coming instead
Yeah, no way he is going when they could be in for a dynasty next yearHe wont leave this year.
No for me. The bloke is a train wreckI’m ok with Oliver, younger, suits us more, will cost less
Should take on it all and take an F1 from them as payment.Agree
Bugger all trade capital, just salary and not 100% of it
Unless they do a salary dump and we pay stuff all
Yeah nah..No for me. The bloke is a train wreck
I think I like Trac more as a player and can be a damaging mid but can easily sit at FF for us too.I’m ok with Oliver, younger, suits us more, will cost less
We don't want Oliver. Waaaaaaaay too many issues. And a bad contractYes , was originally our plan A until Petracca popped up

FFS he had issues , some of which got a tub of mayo slapped on by the mediaWe don't want Oliver. Waaaaaaaay too many issues. And a bad contract
1 yearOliver is 2 years younger aswel plus is a pure contested beast
Petracca is more polish and inside too
Happy with either but certainly not upset if we miss out on Trac and get Clarry
Smart by MelbourneI was definitely keen on Oliver ahead of Trac, younger and won’t cost as much (trade capital)
I warmed up to Trac more once I saw he was meeting with us. I hope Trac nominates us/GC ASAP, would love for us to go hard for Oliver if Trac nominates GC
