I'd like to nominate ABAB for an honorary crows big footy fan of the year award..he does gods work on the player trade boards and this year its the Ah Chee thread. The equivalent of unleashing a pitbull on them🤛
He bores them into submission...

Filthy only just scratching the surface IMO

A 60 goal season and AA is not "scratching the surface". TT is all but the finished product as a footballer.

Now the game is about building structures that maximise TT. Whether it's going taller in our forward line to remove or allow for more ruck minutes, giving him more contests to win, finding ways to isolate him etc.

That's why you bombed out in finals. There was no one in your midfield that's hard to tackle, can draw players to result in clean entries from congestion. It was all just dump kicks forward. Rankine just changes that dynamic massively.

Yup, that and this is a team that can go ice cold at the clinches as well due to lacking gun ball winners.

Ironically that's what caused Rankines performance to crater when he played midfield this year. He became our best inside mid which removed him from situations where his class would be damaging.

I wouldn't disagree that TT is not 'scratching the surface' if the surface referred to is the plane of elitism.

However, if the surface in question is his own ceiling, then yeah, he's barely touched that yet.

I get your point, but I think he has another level to get to where he can rip games apart consistently and be literally unstoppable whether that be ruck or up forward.

Yes, this year was good, but there where times he went missing in games.

2025 was the standard he should be meeting year in, year out IMO

I see both sides of this one.
All he has to do is take the stupid sideways kicks out of his game which inevitably lead to turnovers and he'd be pretty much a finished product in his current predominantly fwd role. BUT the opportunity is that he take his role on ball to another level thats the difference

Interestingly we had the most broken tackles of any side in the minor round. Players individually, and we as a team, played completely differently in finals as you say. Whether that was choking, inexperience, lack of Rankine, changed gameplan is hard to say, but it was terrible to watch and we are going nowhere if it continues.

Were we the tackler or evader with that stat ?

Was more to it than just Rankine missing, that’s just a cop out

Did anyone actually think we're the complete side ....of course this side is still developing / maturing

You're right in that the Finals was a combination of inexperience, choking, Rankine .....and running out of gas

We all expected a far better Finals performance .....understandably so, after a successful minor round, and two home Finals ....injuries being minimal

But I do think people making 2026 predictions off that Finals Series are being naive ......there's a lot of growth in this side, and I still strongly believe this is one of the best lists the Club has ever assembled

For those numnuts claiming Nicks isn't a tactical Coach .....those very same accusations were being labelled at Fagan during this year .....all on the record, if you search
