Know for a fact The doggies and Giants have asked a lot of questions. Bit of a scallywag in juniors but looks to have matured- good for himSome rumours have Melbourne and Freo looking at him.
The bit highlighted is absolute codswallop! I've seen multiple instances (esp in my current higher ed role) where women have been hired despite not having the faintest idea of the job - and into director's roles. It happens all the time in govt / semi govt and socialist, woke enterprises like the AFL now it seems. This does not mean the people they hire are not qualified. It generally means that when both candidates are the same qualifications, they’ll pick the female. People (men) seem to believe women just get these jobs just because they are women. Can’t possibly have gotten them on merit…. If Laura Kane got a job she wasn't qualified for, blame the fellas who hired her. Based on their previous performance at AFL house, id say they were sorely out of their depth in the first place.
Body wise he looks like he needs a couple of preseasons to be strong enough to play midfield.I hinted previously of a midfielder we are looking at getting at end of 2026 in trade period (not Zac Bailey , I think he will re-sign and stay at Brisbane)
Had someone say to me over the weekend "have you heard... ?" so seems to have slowly gotten out
There are a few moving parts to this and could have happened this year, but we shot down their demands
Ryley Sanders is the player, some of you did put 2 and 2 together......
We did have a crack at him during the trade period , WB wanted Mark Keane and we told them politely to GAGF , for whatever reason they didn't want Butts ( maybe his injury history put them off ?)
Now, Ryley's brother plays at Norwood and the rest of his family is looking at re-locating to SA in the near future.
There is a 1 year gap between him being OOC and the new TAS team coming in.
This is where we are looking at striking.
Long term deal on decent $$ , with family hopefully successfully relocated to Adelaide
If they don't venture over, we offer the big $$ , lure of a flag and then if he wishes he can look at finishing his career at the back end in Tasmania
WB really shot themselves in foot losing some bargaining power, no way they offer a 1-year deal not knowing what compensation they will get in a heavily diluted draft
If we notice Bevo giving Sanders minimal midfield time we know he isn't in his future plans
Quite abit to still play out , but if it starts to make the media and guys like Twomey report it - will be looking more likely than not
Fingers Crossed!

I think he would be an excellent get for us, perfect age profile, talented outright midfielder and would compliment what we already haveI hinted previously of a midfielder we are looking at getting at end of 2026 in trade period (not Zac Bailey , I think he will re-sign and stay at Brisbane)

Haha the "Trigg" effectJust no emails to this effect please or wink wink second rounder type guarantees, i wonder if he has heard of Balfours
If there was transparency and expectations are all aligned then it's not an issue.Haha the "Trigg" effect
Nah, it would be more once he became and UFA we take it on the chin and leaves with blessing - especially if is a premiership player
Similar to Kane Johnson
You dont want to lose them but understand and leave with your blessing and always welcome back
Yes this made complete sense when you first dropped the post. We were very keen on Sanders in his draft year. He still has a way to go development wise, having said that he has that solid extractor look about him. Could be a very potent midfield combination for many years of Curtin, Soligo, Draper, Sanders with Rankine and Rachele running throughI hinted previously of a midfielder we are looking at getting at end of 2026 in trade period (not Zac Bailey , I think he will re-sign and stay at Brisbane)

We just need to finally throw the Tippett war chest at someone and get it doneSounds like we are putting a lot of work into Ryley and have been for awhile. Watch this space though as Port will have more ammo to throw the dogs way next year than we do and they usually have a strong track record of throwing their hat into the ring for everyone we try and recruit.
Bailey will stay. Usually players who move in FA have rumours swirl about interest in moving home years in advance. Never ever heard Bailey and wanting a move back to SA mentioned once. Brisbane will certainly keep in unless he chooses the merc option and gets godfather offers he cant refuse.
Interesting comment from Ned, by prefacing it with "I love burgo" makes it sound like its a negative thing? Wonder where he potentially overreached? and if losing that could be positive or negative?
Doesn’t really sound like that type of person to meNed would be in the Blaming Others stage of his career reflection
