Worth a look for sure. Prefer the younger Flanders though. More potential.

If he does go for the rumoured 5 years at $850k per year then I reckon he is right on the edge of Band 1 territory IMO so probably a lineball decision as to pick 6 or pick 21. I do think you guys dodged a bullet with him though

You would think Band 1 would be more the 850k now as Band 1 is supposed to be top 10% in the AFL monetary wise.

With so many players on 1 mill + I reckon the new band 1 trigger is probably up around 950k now

Band 1 shouldnt be on just contract. The value of a top 10 pick let alone a first round draft pick has drastically blown out to the point teams are reluctant to trade out. The AFL should have fixed it after the McKay debacle that was embarrassing. On the open trade market he would have been a 2nd rounder at best, but due to the flawed formula based on contract North was gifted a premium pick a Butters or Rankine would get. Mckay is barely a best 23 player. Essendon just needed a big man.

Hopefully they have fixed it. If Draper were to be traded hed be a 2nd rounder. Pick 21 should be a maximum.

If we convinced him and were willing to cover his contract in full, we may get some change from 14 and F1.
