Wow some serious over analysis here

We got exploded in finals because we don’t have enough elite talent in the midfield - full stop

Rankine will play more mid next year, we need to train Curtin as a mid over pre-season, and I would give Draper the vacant wing role in 2026 allow Curtin to play more mid.

We can’t play both Peatling and Berry in the same team, my choice would be Peatling and Soligo needs to find another gear

Adding another A grade mid over the pre-season is a must

Our lack of midfield quality - put our defence under extra pressure and also impacted the lack of quality forward 50 entries

Dawson, Rankine, Curtin, Peatling, Soligo and A grade recruit needs to be our core

With Rachelle, Draper having bursts when required

Berry - depth when required

Just cant see them letting him go next year while in contract or him quitting the club while they’re right in the dynasty hunt.

Unfortunately next year as a free agent is a more likely scenario.
But Brisbane are absolutely stacked in the midfield. Maybe moving Bailey on, getting a better pick than they would as compensation and then bringing in positions they feel they need more makes sense. It also frees up the cash for free agents, of which they could have 2 or 3.

If I'm Brisbane and win next Saturday I'm keeping Bailey for a crack at a 3 peat.

The poor crowies got the sniffles and no other club in the world ever has had anything of this magnitude occur. It was “most of the team” and the snot n boogers made them play bad. Right in front of me.
Have YOU tried strenuous physical activity while suffering ‘flu A?

I don’t know who I want more out of Zac Bailey or Petracca.

Zac Bailey was awesome tonight !
Easily Zac Bailey. Much younger and costs less.

The chance to be a full time mid here could also be a big lure to Zac. End of the day, if he says to Brissy that he’s planning to go next year but would prefer moving now, then they absolutely would look to maximize that now. Especially as a band 1 compo next year is probably 15-20 range anyway.

Bailey is Neale's replacement ....Neale has maybe one year left in him

Hard to see Bailey wanting to leave .....even harder, if we absorb a major portion of Petracca's salary

Our midfield set up was plain ordinary for the finals, other teams have their best players in there and we had Peatling, Berry and Soligo being actively tapped against by ROB.

That sits solely on VB, the fact he wasn't shown the door before Schoenberg is a joke

Out: Nathan van Berlo

In: Marty Mattner

I don't see a world in which either end up here, but I'm surprised that Merrett keeps entering the conversation. Guy wants to leave and go down the road and has picked a single destination yet apparently we keep getting mentioned as possibilities?

I'm certain we're making an offer to him, it'd be ridiculous not to. But there's not a snowball's chance in hell he'd listen to us beyond getting a number offer to take back to Hawthorn. He can make big bank at Essendon, he wants to play and win finals and has decided on Hawthorn and who would blame him.

I don't see Petracca coming either, but he is at least a possibility no matter how slim.

Can we get one of Dons picks for Sholl or Berry plus our first,2nd. Pick 6 would mean either Marsh or Sharp.
Looks like we want to use it for a star but if not wouldn’t mind it.

Who else would you have had in there?

The sales pitch is there that we will have a best 23 capable of winning finals. Will they come? you would have to think its being seriously considered. Neither management have ruled us out. Which means it may not be as far fetched as you think. We would already know hands down if neither were considering it. Means nothing though until either or both announce us as their preferred target.

Merrett could be enticed to come to Adelaide purely to escape the Victorian media who are out for his blood.

Imagine elliot in our forward line...whooh. get rachele and rankine full time into the midfield

True but he is courted by Gold Coast. The Crows would be a fool not to go hard for him. However, Gold Coast have the same sales pitch we do but with a good coach. They are going to probably end up having a cracking run at the top of the ladder for a long time. Putting together a great list.
