the number 5 kicked the game winning pass

Freaky how Maxwell is following Buckley's steps.

Oh yeah, and another difference, although not really on those "cuts", is that Adelaide supporters were celebrating that they had won before the game was over, seems a SA thing to do.

Maxwell's floater can hardly be described as an assist. Although without his nous the ball would not have made it to our forward line.
The assist in last years semi final must go to Rutten.

Yes, but Buckley's effort was just a 'grab it and bang it forward' effort as well.

Major difference: you'd put your house on Jack to bang it through - with Tarrant, you always had your heart in your mouth.

Chris Tarrant was just absolutely supreme in 2003.

Not in 2003, was always going to drill it that year.

I'd be interested to see his accuracy % for that year. Like you, I seem to recall that he was definitely better in 2003 than before and nothing like later - when he seriously got the yips. Maybe my memory is fading in my dotage but I was never confident with Tazza kicking for goal.

He wasnt great in terms of goal kicking in 03 but he was way better then much latter in his collingwood career.

I remember this match thinking he will kick it pretty easily, i was still very nervous though

Thanks for the link FG - really useful site by the look of it.

Interesting: 55.1% accuracy in 2003 compared with 57.7% for his whole career (without counting total misses). It would appear that senility has, indeed, set in.

To all of those who slagged off Woewodin those clips show that he was a real solid contributor not a waste of space as many have said about him at Collingwood.
