Dropping Martin would be ridiculous. Can Maric force his way in? Petterd might be a straight swap for Watts, but the reports are that Petterd didn't set the world on fire at Casey.

Possibly unchanged team?

Its almost hard to say no to him. he was dropped due to form & went back to Casey & kicked 3 goals & was reported as being BOG for Casey so he's really done everything asked of him.

As for Petterd, as much as I want him back in was reported to have had a bad game which makes it hard to rush him back into the team.

my guess is that morton plays as a sub again or is at casey, needs match fitness to be built up slowly with his long lay off

i'll be very unhappy if watts is the sub, this is a game he NEEDS to be given an opportunity to dominate

Well Jones and Martin are both safe, and from what I gather, Strauss is not exactly in scintillating form
Agreed.

Morton and Watts in the same side may be a big call if it ends up a wet game (showers forecasted for Brisbane on Sunday).

I think Maric should get a go so I guess that leaves Morton/Watts/Petterd for the 4th spot.

This is how I would line up:

B: Clint Bartram - James Frawley - Jared Rivers
HB: Jack Trengove - Colin Garland - Luke Tapscott
C: Rohan Bail - Jack Grimes - Aaron Davey
HF: Addam Maric - Lynden Dunn - Brad Green
F: Liam Jurrah - Jack Watts - Austin Wonaeamirri
FOLL: Mark Jamar - Brent Moloney - Colin Sylvia
I/C: Nathan Jones - Stefan Martin - Jordan Gysberts - (Jamie Bennell)

E: Ricky Petterd - Cale Morton - James Strauss

If there was ever a week that we were going to drop Watts, this shouldn't be it.

aahh but the beauty of watts and morton is there both class below there knees.. no excuses for them im not happy about an unchanged team i think theres something still not right but apart from jetta an maric no one else put there hand up for a game

Completely agree Headless. Exactly as I HOPE we line up! Watts to get no further up the ground than the wing at any time. I also want to see Jamar spend more time forward, and give big Stef a chance against Fraser/Smith. Also makes it harder for GC to play Bock against Watts! Maric to play a defensive forward role on Harbrow. Bail to Ablett.

I'd be tempted to go in unchanged, but Maric could well come in for Morton.

Neither Petterd nor Strauss deserve to be anywhere near the team this week, unless injury prevents someone else from taking part.

The above.

The expected showers push Maric back into the side IMO, difficult to justify Morton after his effort last week regardless. Maric is clearly in red-hot touch, just needs the chance to prove it.

Watts as the sub.

I wonder if they want to give Strauss a go in the seniors just... to see what he's made of, rather than just letting him stick around at Casey. Maybe they're hoping he is the "plays better with better players around him" type. They will eventually have to delist a few at the end of the season, so... otherwise who knows, all reports from Casey about him have been very average yet hes remained on the cusp of selection.

Jones or Martin shouldnt be in danger from what I have seen this year from both of them largely.

Jones played well last week but in the games before that he's been shit, he saved himself last week and is going to need a repeat performance this week.

eh I think Jones is rather over judged. I think he is rather underrated personally I dont know, his only problem is he tries to take on 18 people if he quit doing that people would get off his back imo

Morton fitness isnt much of an issue for mine, he is a great runner and a finger injury would not of stopped him being able to run whilst waiting for the injury to heal.

He is better of playing for Melbourne and getting use to the speed of AFL again as opposed trying to develop fitness at casey and then having to readjust to the speed of AFL.

Go in unchanged for mine, play Watts give him a chance to perform. Don't tell him that he only has 1 week to perform or he is dropped this will not give a player the cofidence he needs to take the game on. Nor will saying he has an extended run of 8 games no matter what, this will lead to complacency.

Bennell is one that seems to fly under the radar drifts in and out of games, long peroids of nothing is followed by moments of brillance. Possibly Maric in for Bennell.

Is it no coincedence our stuggling players seem to be the HFF/CHF in Watts Dunn Petterd and Bate to lesser extent Jurrah and Green. Bar Jurrah's game last week they have all struggled to play consistent footy, for mine some of the blame needs to be shifted to the amount and quality of ball being been delivered to the half forward/wing when coming out of the backline.

All in all we aren't playing great footy but we are 1.5 wins and 1 loss, a win this week puts us in the 8 with some winnable games to come. Lets hope we can hit some form we saw last year!
