2 day game December 15 - 16:

Cowan (c), Burns, Cooper, Doolan, George, Haberfield, Lalor, Ludeman, Maxwell, Mennie, Robinson, Dean Solway (ACT).

3 day game December 19-21

Warner (c), Bollinger, Boyce, Cooper, Copeland, Doolan, George, Hughes, Khawaja, Lalor, Ludeman, S.Marsh.

First team I am pretty happy with, but Ludemann is a very very very unusual choice. Can't get a game in front of Crosthwaite for SA! I bet that CA didn't pick Paine or Wade because of this T20 tournament... Glad to see Robinson in there anyway.

Second team... Ludemann again?? Lalor picked in both sides having played maybe two career shield games? Bollinger? Why go there again? Move on FFS. Good to see Copeland hasn't been completely forgotten about and Boyce being exposed. Hughes and Warner to have a "bat off" (unless Warner does exceptionally well in Hobart) and it seems Marsh is there to prove his fitness and blow off cobwebs before likely coming back in for Boxing Day.

Shows how much the selectors love a left armer. This time they seem to have picked one with good control. Nice to see Maxwell get some recognition. Surely could have thrown Nevill in there though.

Surely Hogan and Herrick should've got a game in at least one of the teams instead of rughead Bollinger.

The Ludeman selection is just odd.If they're not playing Paine [if fit] or Wade due to the Big Bash then that's a joke.Even Nevill or Dunk should be in ahead of the 2nds player.

couldn't reward the ACT Futures League keeper instead?

If Lalor kills it in these games will the selectors look at him for Boxing day? They love left armers and punting on inexperienced fellas seems to be the in thing these days.

Ah right that explains Nevill and Faulkner.
How ironic that the batsmen competing for a spot in the Boxing day test don't have a match which just happens to coincide with the second match so they can use "this opportunity to press their claim".

Forgot about Hogan, reckon he might consider himself a bit unlucky. Herrick as well, I don't think it sends a good message if the best performers in the Shield don't even get a look in.

so Marsh, Usman, Hughes and Warner playing off for 2 and 3? sounds wise i think. would be pushed in Usman and Marsh's favour you would think though....

Depends if the Indians bowl wide to Hughes. If they do, he'll probably club them all over the place. Apart from Zaheer and that 70mph dude who is injured, their seamers aren't all that much. Instant hasn't kicked on like we expected.

Ed Cowan has a game the days he's playing.
Selected for one of the two, and been told that he might not play either if Sydney require him.

What a joke.

I hope Cowan tells them he's playing both Tour games, and they can rip up his Big Bash contract if that's a problem.

Sydney Thunder quartet David Warner, Phillip Hughes, Usman Khawaja and Doug Bollinger, Adelaide's Tom Cooper and Perth's Shaun Marsh are not engaged in Big Bash action during the December 19-21 game against India. The other six players chosen do not hold Big Bash contracts. Cowan was left out of the three-day game as it clashes with the Sixers' match against Hobart on December 21 but he was named Chairman's XI captain for the two-day game, which also clashes with his Big Bash commitments.

Remember these teams are pretty much "Australian players who don't have a BigBash game on at the same time XI"

Yup.

What a mess.

The words pathetic and disgraceful come to mind. Would have liked Cowan to be doing his diary this year so we can hear what he really thinks. Didn't sound too happy about the way cricket was going in his last one.

Not if they plan on playing Bollinger on Boxing Day and want to give him another run.

May as well throw the Argus Report in the shredder and never speak of it again

I reckon they've already picked Cowan for the Tests anyway, so figure it doesn't matter.

I think they might've too. Think Marsh and Bollinger are playing too as they plan on playing them as well. and want to give them a game. My guess only though.

Cowan dosen't need the game so let him have a slog. Other two need a full game coming back from an injury though.
