Thanks, dude that's awesome. I said earlier in the year I reckon in 5 years he'll be our best player. He is going to be a superstar and is only just working out how good he could be. I reckon he has some really unique traits, he isn't a great kick or handball but just makes good stuff happen. Fyfe and Sydney's Kennedy are similar.

Went back to our trade & draft thread from last year and tracked down this post I made about Acres on October 13, 2015.

I'm thrilled with his development and form this year, especially his last month, but I can't say that I'm too surprised. It was all a matter of time before it all clicked for Blake... scary thing is, he's nowhere near the finished product. He's played a grand total of 26 games. 26.

I'm a giant fan but there is no way he is a better player than Steven next year (at a minimum).
The man love for Blake is strong though. Second only to paddy.

As someone who was standing at ground level down at Launceston that day, I can only agree. He looked like greased lightning when he went past Hartung and the fact that the Hawks mob behind us on the hill sought to remind Billy about it for the remainder of the day made it all the sweeter.

Jesus, he has a freakish ability to just jog out of a tackle. Amazing. Can't wait to watch him more next year. Highest ceiling out of any of our players imo. I don't want to pump him up too much but his overhead ability and how he breaks a line of opposition players is pretty similar to how fyfe plays. Gun

Awesome video.

In his first couple of seasons, and a earlier this season as well, he was a bit of a deer in the headlights, waiting to be brought to ground by his opponent. Now, he just lets them come to him and shrugs them off.

I posted this in May, when he was getting dropped to the VFL every second week:

Acres will cement his place in the 22 by the end of the season, but the consistency just isn't there yet. Like Rors said yesterday, he just needs to get to a point where he's on his game, every game. He's publicly praised Richo for his tough love approach to him, and I have total faith in Richo's ability to know how to get the most out of any player. We're seeing the ups and downs of his development right before our eyes, and I think that's pretty special.

I think it's fair to say that he's taken that step, his last month was as good as anyone's at the club.
