Round 23 is the only round to have never had a
80,000 crowd
70,000 crowd at the MCG.

Best crowds are:
1992-R23 Carlton v Collingwood, Waverley Park, 77357
2017-R23 Richmond v St Kilda, MCG, 69104

Even Round 24 has had one big crowd:
2011-R24 Collingwood v Geelong, MCG, 85705

Bear in mind we've only had ten Round 23's. Since 2008, rounds 7, 14, 18, 20, 21 & 22 have failed to produce a crowd of 80K.

Tom Mitchell is on 697 disposals for the year, averaging 36.7 per game.

To average the most for a 22 game H&A season, he needs a further 91 disposals or 30.3 per game.

If Hawthorn do not make finals, he needs 42.7 per game to pass Matt Crouch's 825 disposals (inc. finals) in 2017.

If Hawthorn play 1 final, he needs 32.0 per game to pass Matt Crouch's 825 disposals (inc. finals) in 2017.

If Hawthorn play 2 finals, he needs 25.6 per game to pass Matt Crouch's 825 disposals (inc. finals) in 2017.

Looks like 13 wins won't guarantee a finals berth this year.

Teams that have missed finals with 13+ wins* under a Final 5, Final 6 or Final 8 system:
14 - (1992) Carlton 112.3%
13 - (1981) Hawthorn 109.4%
13 - (1981) Richmond 105.3%
13 - (1980) South Melbourne 101.7%
13 - (1977) Carlton 111.9%
13 - (1972) Hawthorn 111.1%

* ignoring Essendon's disqualification in 2013 (14-8 107.3%)

Interestingly, none of the teams with 13 wins missed finals by percentage alone. This year could be a first.

Lowest team score that included an individual 5 goal haul?
Or Biggest loss in which the losing team had an individual 5 goal scorer

GC game not over yet but sensing that there will be a new mark for these

Who was keeping track of attendances? This weekend saw an average of 40201. Round 21 won’t get close to that. I’m thinking about 35-36000.

Do the Hawks get unnaturally skewed by Burgoyne?

Shaun Burgoyne playing on into 2019, currently on 353 games.

Should play 4-5 more games this year, and a potential 22-26 next year.

Will play Game 200 for Hawthorn in Week 1 of this years finals.

378 - Madden
372 - Goodes
366 - Quinlan
364 - BJohnson
359 - Blakey
356 - Doull, Roos
353 - Burgoyne

Add will add to these numbers:
- Most Wins (302-Tuck, 260-Bartlett, 239-Burgoyne, 238-Doull).
- Most Finals Played (39-Tuck, 33-Burgoyne, 31-GCoventry).
- Most Finals Series Played (15- DLee, Tuck, 14 - McGregor, GCoventry, 13 - McHale, Titus, Goodes, 12 - ... Burgoyne)

Ever spent waaaaay too much time compiling some stats? Well, I have, especially with this next one. I did it all manually.

As you may know, Tim Watson debuted as a 15yo. What intrigued me was that no 16yo debuted that year.

Andrew Mackie played 280 games over 14 years. (207-2-71)

Only in 2 years did he play in more than 6 losses (8 in 2012, 7 in 2017).

Only in 3 years did he play in more than 5 H&A losses (6 in 2006, 7 in 2012, 6 in 2015).

He was the fastest to 200 wins (268 games) as well as the fastest to 197 wins, and 201-207 wins.

Joel Selwood (199-1-68) was the fastest to 189-191 wins, and 193 wins and has the chance to match or beat some of Mackie's current records.

Jack Riewoldt kicked 10 goals today to now be leading the Coleman Medal. He overtook 4 players year tallies: Luke Breust, Tom Hawkins, Lance Franklin and Ben Brown.

He also overtook 4 players career tallies: Tony Modra, Kelvin Templeton, Jonathan Brown and Stewart Loewe.

Riewoldt now sits in 31st place all-time on 595 goals, 12 behind Michael Roach on 607.

Second time that Joel Selwood has played in 9 H&A losses in a season (2015, 2018).

Andrew Mackie never played in 8 or 9 H&A losses in a season. In 2012, he played in 7.

16 scoring shots in recent times:

10.6 - (R20, 2018) Jack Riewoldt, Gold Coast v Richmond
13.4 - (R10, 2012) Lance Franklin, Hawthorn v North Melbourne
13.4 - (R03, 1999) Matthew Lloyd, Essendon v Sydney
11.6 - (R09, 1998) Tony Lockett, Sydney v Hawthorn
