A score not seen in a VFL/AFL senior game but it gave Adelaide its highest win over Carlton.

It's also the first time Adelaide have beaten Carlton by 100+ points.

Adelaide now have beaten the big 4 at least once by 100+ points.

2017 was the odd ONE out (135-20 as registered by Port Adelaide vs Gold Coast.)

That means that, for the 2nd consecutive season, Gold Coast have finished a season -100 in arrears of their opponent.

Of all of the above scores, only 164-51 has been seen more than once. (Coll vs Kang R14 1937.)

Also, like 2010, we saw a pairing of 98-95.

2010 it was Hawthorn defeating Collingwood.
2018, Richmond defeating Footscray.

In 2010, Collingwood finished that season on top of the ladder.

Both rounds had St Kilda to close out the round/H/A season.
Melbourne played the 2nd last game.
Geelong played a home game at Skilled on a Saturday arvo (99 point win in '08 and 102 points in '18.)
Fremantle played Collingwood and both games were in WA.
Both times the largest margin of the round was in excess of 100 points (108 in '08 and 104 in '18.)

The Adelaide Crows SANFL team's 1-17 record this year put the Crows' first wooden spoon into their trophy cabinet.

In the AFL the Adelaide Crows are the only team to have never been in danger of a wooden spoon. All other teams bar Port Adelaide have finished on the bottom of the ladder, but in 2011 Port only avoided the wooden spoon by percentage from newcomers the Gold Coast Suns. Even in the Crows' worst years they have never been anywhere near the bottom of the ladder.

The struggles of Carlton and Brisbane 2015-2018. To R13, Carlton average almost 4 wins but only 1 in the last 10 rounds. Brisbane on the other hand only manage about 1.5 wins to R13 but finish off with almost 3 wins in the last 10 rounds. We have seen improvement from Brisbane in the latter half of 2018 but you would have to think Carlton still have a long way to go.

Mathematically speaking, the original McIntyre final 8 system was the best for the minor premier, but it had some anomalies that the public could not accept and rightfully so.
