In only his 15th senior match for the Magpies, Sidebottom was brilliant across four quarters finishing with a career-high number of disposals (27) and handballs (16) while taking 10 marks (tied a career-high).
* 17 - score links for the match (most on the ground). Score link: When a player is involved in an unbroken chain which results in a score.
* 4 - goal launches (most on ground). Goal launch: When a player delivers the first possession in a link which results in a goal.
* 8 - possession gains (most on ground) Possession gain: Possession acquired off a turnover.
* 0 - turnovers (only two players on the ground with zero turnovers - Sidebottom and Prestigiacomo)

God damn this kid is good.
The website just did a "stat attack" on him, and some of the stats from the Hawthorn game are astounding.

Now, in anyones language, those stats are impressive.
And it's only his second year, how good will this kid be, my guess is ELITE, All Australian etc etc.![]()

Also, it's an interesting point you make about our KPP DaVe. I've been thinking the same thing for awhile and the recent form of many of them has me a bit worried. If they don't come good we are hamstrung on two fronts, 1) We wont have time to develop another one and 2) We are stuffed by the draft even if we did. We'd have to trade for one somehow if it came to it. Our chances of a premiership really rest heavily on the progress of Cloke, Anthony, Brown, Reid, Dawes, Goldsack >> and there ability to hold down the KP's.
I've been saying this for a while. ALL our KPP are iffy at the moment. Out of all of them Anthony looks closest to being a good KPP, but he hasn't exactly had a stellar year so far. Dawes may or may not make it, Rusling is cursed and the jury is still out on Cloke.
Good KPFs can win you games. See how well Brown and Fevola is working for Brisbane.
Steele is going great though. He, Beams and Wellingham are going to form the core of our midfield for a long time. He seems to be playing forward a bit lately, obviously Mick wants him to bag some more goals and play a closer role to what he did in the TAC Cup final.
since 2006 draft has been a Mistake by HineI agree with Hine Not Drafting any KPP in the ND accept for Thoolensince 2006 draft has been a Mistake by Hine
Was just watching footy classified (Don't hold it against me) and saw some vision about our pressure causing essendons sloppy ball use, all 3 pieces shown involved rusty laying the tackles and in two of them winning the ball for collingwood. This part of his game can be under rated because of his lack of leg speed but once he is in a position to tackle he makes the tackle stick!

He is 19 Years Old so he not gone be a Macho Man but few more Pre-Season and that should improveSteele knows how to put the pressure on that's for sure, and his tackles stick more often than not. He's looking really good so far, probably needs to get a bit of strength next preseason though cause I've seen him in a few marking contests slapping at his opponent trying to get into position.![]()

The whole forward line was like that. Watch the first quarter Medhurst,
Davis and Steele all hunted in packs and put enormous pressure on them. The commentators said they (Medders & Davis) where quiet, but the pressure they applied was first rate and is what will win us alot of games.
