Prediction Stringer or Ablett

Just wondering as I saw this was in the Geelong Advertiser. If we could only get 1 of these player who would you choose.

There are two problems with Stringer. One is that we just don't have the wherewithal (early picks) to get him. The other speculated team (Bombers) do, so just on that basis it's not likely.

The other issue is whoever gets him is getting a player who has undoubted talent but comes with a lot of baggage, part of it being an individualist who lacks dedication.

Doubt we'll get either as the amount Ablett is seeking we won't entertain so the story goes. And that's quite apart from negotiating a deal satisfactory to the Suns.

Im just going by what i read in the paper plus what footy classifieds were talking if we had to prioritize 1 player.

In that order for me
I think Lonergan will leave a massive hole in our defense and players like buddy will start scoring more on us. thus Lever would be a very fine get
Obviously Taylor will be a fine replacement, but we need a big forward to score for us and get the ball on the ground for the Ablett, Smith, Menzel, McCarthy, Parfitt, Parsons, Danger train to feed from firstly, so that is why Lever comes third
If we have motion in the forward line, it will force the mids to hit up leads instead of bombing. I think that is when the Hawk is at his best too. And Menzel.
Stringer would be my first choice of all of the above to change our structure up and make Hawk and Menz less predictable.

I've always liked Stringer since his first year. He's got explosive power, strength, good mark and kick. BUT he has been off this year. What's wrong with him.

If Ablett does return, I'd take that.

if we gonna entertain Lever, then he's the No. 1 choice. I actually thought we were going to take him in the draft when we selected Cocky. I think there was a gentleman's agreement to allow him to go through to Adelaide as part of the Danger trade.

Problem at the bullies is he was the forward leader too early. Win a premiership and go to putty after celebrating too heavily. Hawks did the same in 2009.
If anyone can straighten him out it is far more leaders up forward to put him in his place and give him perspective. Hanging him out to dry to early. Needs to be shown a thing or two about bigheadedness. I think Hawkins, Taylor, Menzel, Ablett, Selwood, Danger, and Scarlett and Scott would sort him out pretty quickly regarding dedication and Making the most of a very small window before it is too late.
Don't hang the boy for being a dickhead at 23, I'm sure a lot of you were too.
He's a very fine talent who needs the right people to show him how important that can be if you put the group before your own parade.

With Parfitt Parsons Gregson maybe Lang (if not traded) to go through there looks pretty fine to me.
A little more mobile than what we currently have IMHO

Smith is the one we will get IMO.
I hope for stringer with gaz a very distant third.
I would like a good key forward but i doubt there will be anyone available this trade period that fits the bill.

Realistically I think we will be outbid for Stringer. So I think Ablett maybe more relevant.

If it was up to me Stringer all the way! Youth with X factor over a Gazza we might get 2 seasons out of. That's why I'm cool with King String and Smith!
