I just turned the tv on and noticed we are wearing our home strip and the Lions have their away strip! I haven't heard mention of it in the TVcommentary as yet. Can someone please explain!!??

There I was thinking it as a nice gesture to Tyson and Welshy! It was obviously prearranged for us to be in our strip - seems a bit weird really - wonder what the Lions crowd think!

I guess DTs got it there.

Otherwise, its just a case of common sense really, its the only guernsey combination that could avoid a clash, unfortuanately even our red 'clash' guernsey would still clash.
Yes - I think it was a good move from that point of view - very easy to tell the teams apart - it wouldnt have mattered what we wore - it would be easy to distinguish and if they had their home strip and we had our away strip it would be tricky - we would need that heritage gold jumper.

BACK TO THE FOOTY - What a crap decision to give Brown that goal and cost us the lead - who said umpiring cant affect the game!

We can wear our home jumpers whenever we want there is no restriction with that provided that it doesnt clash with our opposition, it is a choice the club makes and not the AFL.
Do you think we would have chosen our home jumper if Brisbane wore their normal strip? I guess white shorts would have to be the go if that was the case.

If they are not wearing their 'clash' strip now then when will they wear it??

Adelaide have one jumper that they use against Melbourne and I think against Brisbane when they use their standard home jumper (the red one with the blue and yellow stripes) and the other one we usually wear when we are playing away.

We wore this strip when we played the Dockers

On the clash strip, we feel that your standard guernsey is too close to our WRT dark shade and a similar range of colours. Have even heard of player state the three clubs that they found most difficult are you guys, Essendon and Melbourne. Obviously you clash strip is probably even worse for us (maroon vs red) so we opted for the white one.

In which case your club should be congratulated for not making an issue out of it, and doing what was best for the game. Very impressed with the maturity shown by the Lions leadership.

A sensible decision by a very professional club. It's a pleasure to have officials from club's such as yours with that sort of attitude.

Pity those that believe that they are the only ones who matter didn't feel the same way.

Congratulations again Lions. :thumbsu:

Wow, if only Essendon or Collingwood has those kind of balls

Two things..

Firstly, congratulations to the Lions management for showing the maturity to let their team wear an away/clash jumper, despite it being their home game.

Secondly, how dumb are the AFL that they let us get away with OUR clash jumper - which doesn't actually resolve any of the clashes caused by the original jumper! The red jumper with blue & yellow "feathers" clashes just as badly with Melbourne & Brisbane as does the standard blue/red/gold hoops outfit. The AFC need to come up with a clash jumper which actually prevents clashes, it's not rocket science.
