In the news again, charged after allegedly taking part in the supply of a large commercial quantity of cocaine.

Former Australian cricketer Stuart MacGill has been charged after allegedly taking part in the supply of a large commercial quantity of cocaine.
Police arrested MacGill, who played 44 Test matches for Australia, at Chatswood police station on Tuesday.
A police source, who was not authorised to speak publicly, said that the alleged deal involved more than $300,000 worth of cocaine.
He has been granted strict conditional bail and will face Manly Local Court on October 26.
The arrest comes after an investigation into MacGill’s alleged kidnapping in April 2021 on Sydney’s lower north shore.
MacGill was allegedly taken from his home in Cremorne and driven to a property at Bringelly, more than 60 kilometres away in the city’s south-west, where three men are alleged to have assaulted him and threatened him with a firearm.
About an hour later, it is alleged MacGill was driven to the Belmore area, about 40 kilometres away, and released.
The incident was reported to police and six men were arrested over the alleged kidnapping. One man has pleaded not guilty and the others are expected to fight the charges.

No surprise to hear that MacGill was involved in a coke deal.

That kidnapping story where he tried to paint himself as an innocent victim sounded fishy, you don't get kidnapped for no reason unless there is drugs or money involved.

Bizarre stuff.

How much would 2kg of the white stuff go for in Sydney? I honestly don't know.

Even if they're selling that kind of quantity at 1/4 of end consumer street price that's around $200k by my maths.

And where are the popo even getting the 2kg figure from?

Unless they found the brick (which there is no mention of), then the next explanation might be that somebody spilled the beans.

You'd think Macgill would be smart enough to hire some high level rep and get out of it Bomber Thompson style.

Then again, if he is reporting himself as abducted by organised criminal figures then maybe he isn't that bright after all.

Hopefully he can sort himself out, sad to see a former Test player fall on hard times like this.

Were it not for Warnie's existence, then MacGill would probably be seen today as Australia's second best ever spinner (behind the GOAT).

From memory, MacGill out-bowled Warnie on the rare occasion when they played in the same team.

Warne and MacGill played together in 16 Tests and Warne took 74 wickets at 29.56 and MacGill took 82 wickets at 22.10.

Every time MacGill got a bag the camera would close in on Warne as they walked off the field and you could tell he was pissed off lol

i think the story was his brother-in-law either took the drugs and didn't pay, or took the cash and didn't supply the drugs. Something like that.

His brother-in-law sounds like a real piece of shit, anyway, the guys on the side of the transaction grabbed Mcgill for a bit of leverage. So he was innocent in the sense he wasn't trying to rip the guys off, but sounds like he was neck deep in faciliating the whole deal.

either way I doubt he'll get much more than a slap on the wrist.
