Funny thing is I do actually have a contact in the club but he never tells me anything now that I'm back on this side of the world. Did tip me off about Long, which I do think I reported on here much to a few people's disbelief.
 
The people saying that Suarez for Sanchez + cash is a great deal for us must have missed Spurs' season.
It may work out alright, but I'd rather have the bloke who has performed week in week out for us than cashing in on him and buying a bunch of players with question marks over them.

Don't recall anyone saying it was a 'great deal'. Just that it wasn't a poor offer.
 
Maybe so, but some posters were indicating we should accept. Just don't see the logic in selling our best player when he is absolutely crucial to the success and direction of the club. Even if it were for a ridiculous sum of money and a (very good) player in return. As I said, Spurs found out last year that it doesn't always work out that way.

IF Suarez wanted a move, he'd get it.

Barca aren't giving you 80mil + Sanchez. That's the kind of terrible deal we were talking about before.

70 mil is unlikely and pushing it.

Sanchez is rated above 25mil himself.

They might be stupid enough to, people are stupid enough to pay 50 mil for David Luiz

I'd rather we try taking Barca/Real to the cleaners if we have the cards in our hand than not try. Tottenham took Real to the cleaners over Bale, they just shot themselves in the foot with who they signed

I'm not sure there's a club out there that is as stupid as PSG.

Just get Suarez's father in on the deal ;)

Never underestimate people's stupidity ;)

Interesting what his father in law said isn't it, with the family location/connection stuff at Barca I would think he prefers Barca, but Real probably needs him more

A front three of Neymar Messi and Suarez looks good on paper but I'm not sure it works out in practice

They paid 49m+ Eto'o for Ibra.

Don't put anything past them.
 
Haven't seen much of this Herrera bloke, how good is he? We're going to be spending around £32m on him so he must go alright.

Finally looks like we're signing a midfielder, hopefully Shaw follows and then a CB.

I dont believe any of this Suarez talk. Seriously if he was going to leave it would have been last summer. He has just had a career year, almost won the title and now we have delivered CL football back to Anfield which is what he craved the whole time. He seems pretty happy.

I think eventually he leaves for one of Barca or Real, but it wont be this summer.
