It is game day. FNF. Backs against the wall. At the Cats fortress... need to be relentless for 4 quarters and everyone one needs to perform at their best including the coaches. Come on Swannies! Would be a sweet victory if we can get over the line tonight.

Gonna be hard to do it without our skipper, but if all the boys play there role we'll win!

I'm calling it now, Tippett will have a blinder

Easy win coming up I think.

Replying to this in the game day thread, you were right about GWS and Hawthorn, so I'll back you in, but I just hope we aren't going in too tall.

We have this one in the bag. Dangerfield out for them renders them a bottom 8 team which we seem to take care of quite easily. as someone mentioned before, Motlop out strengthens them but Nakia is one hell of an attacking player with a great defensive mindset. The Cats have really been stripped of a few very honest footballers there & this is where we just win every time, provided we keep our structures & follow our game plan. Their dishonest players will get found out & I don't believe that Tom Hawkins will be given the opportunity to see much of the ball. The long narrow ground plays right into our hands as we don't have to defend too wide when running back to defend.

This is the reason we don't mind the Cattery.
A loss less than 20 points will leave me very disappointed but I truly believe the margin will be 20-39 points.
In the Bigfooty Tipping, I am picking the home team but I don't think I've picked a Friday night winner for quite a while.

So have confidence guys.

Have we actually gone too tall

We have a ruck, a ruck forward, a CHF and a FF thats a pretty normal setup for most teams

Sure we looked better with one ruck doing aprox 85% rucking, with towers and parker giving a chop out, but we dont have a grundy or martin capable of doing that role for the whole season without breaking down

I think this structure is good and gives us a bit of flexibility that horse likes

sustained high pressure game for four quarters will get it done, JPK missing - Can see Jones getting dirty around the ball with his grunt. Really hope we get the response and play from in front. Saw the cats play in Adelaide a couple of weeks back, they were never in the game, hoping we can assert authority early...Heeney to bounce back and everyone to lower they eyes going forward with quick ball movement. Dont forget, we have
Lloyydddd back, a very important cog missing from last week... both sides outs are obviously influential. The Cats ins are not great improvements where I think ours are,

Go Swans

Nakia is out...i'm not sure if your post concerns this or not?

Hey Guys, welcome to all of you who are going to make the trek down to Geelong. Should be a cracking match, honestly don't know who is going to win, will be a close one I would think. Best of Luck :thumbsu:

I think they left at 5am this morning so that they can be there for the bounce.
But I can't get there tonight so on their behalf, thanks!:thumbsu:

Hard to pick which team is more unsettled this week. 13 changes between us over the last week. Crazy.

Surely the home ground advantage and weather will suit the cats.

We would win this in Melb or Sydney, I think. But it will take a cracking quarter or two to get a break on them at the cattery.

Tippett needs to play forward. See . Few years ago sure, but I think it could work again.

Also, Parker has a great history v Cats. Will certainly stand up again.

Let's hope "local" Geelong boys play well with family and friends supporting them
"the local knowledge of county boys Gary Rohan, Lewis Melican and Dean Towers, who grew up playing at the venue, when they run out in Geelong on Friday night.
All three grew up in nearby towns and played plenty of matches at the famous venue as juniors.
Rohan came from nearby Cobden, Melican from Birregurra and Towers from Luke Hodge’s home town of Colac. Rohan and Melican played a host of times when they were with the Geelong Falcons.

I'm happy with our Swans midfield of Hannebery, Heeney, Hewitt (perhapps tagging role on Selwood), KJack, Jones, Parker, Papley with potential swing players of Reid, Rohan and Towers and maybe Mills.
Any improvement on our disposal efficiency into our forwards would be awesome, pleae, please, please.

So who is the main ruckman tonight? Tippett is a better forward then Sinclair
