Is anyone watching the launch on 513?

Holograms of players, wrong colours in the background, some bloke walking back and forth through the holograms...Melbourne Stars uniform is exactly Pakistan's.

Everyone looking confused.

Steve Smith walking out of a pink hummer....and ****ing Pete Lazer MC!

I just cannot see this league taking off. I don't have a team to follow as none seem to pull me in. Not even sure I will go to a match to be honest.

Just saw some coverage of the Renegades launch. The most painful thing I have ever seen.

This whole competition is just inducing.

What amazes me (and I am happy to be proven wrong) but if punters on the street are just as horrified as me about this and have just a "meh" response to it, why is it that so many - seemingly smart people are getting involved in this?

I mean seriously computer says "No" but no one has come out and canned it apart from people on this website. CA are seemingly broke but they can throw money at 25 players on a listed contract system and then pick guys from outside that list a mere three months after the issue the new list, not to mention the cashola that will exit in this debacle.

What is going on? When is that review due?

Everyone who talks about it prefaces their comments with something like "it's not my thing, but it will bring families and kids to the game of cricket". I heard Craddock run with that on the radio the other day. If the families and kids don't show, they are up the creek without a paddle.

That applies to everything though.

Loved the email from CA about this:

The biggest decision you will ever make

(chooosing which team to support :o)

I replied to take me off the Big Bash list as it did not interest me anymore.

I would love to get my hands on the w***ers that are detroying cricket in this country.

Unfortunately guys like Hayden are backing it. I seriously can't understand why he all of a sudden hates test cricket. He was a superb test cricketer and I will always remember him for that and his amazing World Cup in 2007. I won't remember him as a Chennai Super King at all, it's sad when these legends stop supporting test cricket just because they can earn a buck in T20. Does it sicken others when Shane Warne after seeing Yusuf Pathan slog a century off 30 balls in a meaningless IPl fixture calls it the greatest performance he's seen on a cricket field? FFS the guy has seen Tendulkar take great bowling attacks to the cleaners, Gilchrist change games with an hour of batting, Flintoff seemingly single handedly turning an Ashes series around, Lara make double centuries, McGrath making batsman look like fools, Steve Waugh defying the odds with a gutsy ton and the list goes on. Good on him for making a buck, but please don't disrespect the game like that. Also has anyone noticed how Stuart Clark has suddenly changed his tune about Cricket Australia and their priorites, couldn't be anything to do with the money CA is paying him now to coach one of their prized franchises could it?

I'm not old and I don't live in the past, but I'm really disenchanted with the way cricket is going at the moment.

Great article by Greg Baum in today's age on all this.

Honestly, test cricket is where it's at. T20 is boring. A good test means you aint getting off the couch til 6pm - and only then to play cricket with your brother and neighbours.

hmmm... which team to pick?

well, being that im one of millions of Australians shunned by CA's insistence of a city based competition, it won't be any of them

the closer this thing gets the more I hate it.

Could not give less of a shit about this competition :)
