there's no guarantee johnson will play, he's not supposed to start bowling again until about april so he could potentially miss about half of the tournament which begs the question; is he worth 300k for say 6 or 7 matches?

So you think a player who has more ODI wickets in the sub-continent than anybody else at an average of 22 and who has an excellent T20 bowling record internationally shouldn't be bought, whereas a player who has had ONE good innings against a team that is recogniseably and notoriously shite in the sub-continent in short formats should be?

This, Isn't mitch out for a lot of the tournament? Plus O Brien was only 50k and it was more than 1 innings he got a 58 off 35 in county cricket 2020. He scored 365 from 14 matches in the recent 2020 comphttp://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...most_runs_career.html?id=6381;type=tournament.

Johnson will only get paid for games he is available for. If he's only available for a half of the games, he'll get half the season's payment. The contracts are for three years and he is only 30, is not likely to play too many tests for Australia so in some ways it's a long game bid as his availability once fit should be good.

Thanks for clearing that up.
Fidel Edwards unsold and Sreesanth went to the Royals for 400,000.

Brad Hogg sold to Rajasthan for 180.000. Another old Aussie tweaker for them. Ha, ha, ha. Farmer George must be loving this.

Narine has been sold for more than Chris Gayle!

Swann unsold. As are Herath, Mendis and Doherty.

I've never understood these figures.

I know everyone's sick of Moneyball blah blah blah but I swear if you used any sort of statistical analysis you could go into this thing, build a team for about a quarter of the price and win.

How does Jadeja get $2 million?

Because they are only allowed a certain number of foreign players and an unlimited number of Indians.

All true bar the fields well. He rivals Sehwag for slowest cricketer.

Jadeja gets the big bucks because he is seen as the next big thing in Indian cricket and will bring in the advertising money and big attendances. So they will make alot of money off of him.

Interesting that England players never get picked up. Is this becuase England always play cricket around the time of the IPL or they just aint rated in the T20 gane?

Hodgey making good bucks, players like him play a couple of months a year for some pretty handy coin.

So my team has bought:

Hodge for 475k
Hogg for 180k
Chandimal for 50k
Sreesanth for 400k

That leaves 950k left.

Daniel Harris bought by Deccan, Michael Klinger goes unsold though. Like harris better in T20s.

Kevon Cooper, a solid T&T allrounder bought by Rajasthan for 50k.

James Faukner bought by KXIP for 190k. Nice pick-up. They've also picked up Azhar Mahmood.

Thissara Perera bought by Mumbai for a whopping $650,000. Double wow.

Jayawardene clearly some sort of undisclosed marketing concept. Thrilled for Hoggy, MJ and Hodge.

I never suggested he should be banned. Until now I did not realise his T20 record was as good as previously suggested or that he was in such good form. I'm truly surprised

Jawardene's t20 record is good, but if you dissect cameron white's career by picking the games he scored centuries and high 50s it wouldn't be that dissimilar.

Average about 30, sr about 130/140 and 2 centuries.

Very happy with Delhi's selections. :thumbsu:

Mahela J will provide us with a really good option in the middle order; and his experience will be invaluable.

Andre Russell is a real livewire; will fight with Hopes for the all-rounder spot.

Bracewell on the cheap as a back-up bowler and a guy who can smoke it with the bat, can't really fault it either.

With a bowling line-up of Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Irfan Pathan and James Hopes/Andre Russell, we should prepare green and bouncy tracks and make the most of our pace heavy attack.
