Discussion Tasmania AFL Jumper Design

Yeah I hate that, it’s just a bulldogs jumper with a logo you can’t even see.

Tassie are in a tough spot as their eventual AFL jumper has to feel unique and modern so anything basic like stripes, hoops or Vs are a big no unless they can do it in a unique way.
Disagree. Two stripes in Tassie state colours is perfectly fine.

I don't hate-hate the revealed jumpers but I don't like them either.

The logo (admittedly, not a fan at all) goes missing almost instantly and while the core design is a basic/traditional look, it just seems a bit lacking.

I am certain it won't be the same when they run out in the AFL.

I am glad they've started to distance themselves from the state jumper design - I know it has it's fans but they aren't the Tasmanian state team, no reason to blur that line.

They need to wear the white full time to avoid the green screen effect with the grass.

Put them in full green and it'll be like 18 heads bobbing around the field!

Because no team has ever worn green when playing sport, right?

Tasmania had a green state of origin jumper, Freo wore green in the AFL and there's been plenty of green in soccer, NFL, NRL etc.... I think they'll manage....

He forgot to turn the sarcasm font on.

Gibbsy is onto me - I was not being entirely serious....

I would suspect the white strip would be worn against predominately darker teams like Adelaide, Melbourne and Essendon. Green is obviously standalone but it's a darker shade, the only possible need would be against teams without white in their home design.

While I would rather a yellow or red clash kit, like the Crows' white is a smarter choice, as red would clash with teams like Gold Coast and yellow with the Hawks, that's why the Crows went back to a white clash to ensure it serves its purpose and they don't have to make another kit when they play one team like the hawks

Id love to see how the guernsey looks if the devil design or silhouette was white? Would be able to make it out better. They would have been able to have the full devils head visible

It doesn’t have to be less like the Dogs because the colours are way different. We have Richmond and Essendon share exact same templates as well as North, Collingwood and Hawthorn all with the same templates too.
That’s a problem though and we only tolerate it because of tradition, we shouldn’t be making new teams fall into that hole. It’s bad enough the giants ditched a unique design to copy Brisbane’s template.
