The article says he's a Kpp yet he's only 186cm.
When the article was written he was a 16 year old 186 cm player. Its not a stretch to believe he will grow at least to 190 cm and at that height he can play KP. Fevola is only 190 cm and is arguably the best FF in the game.

I don't know a great deal about this TAC Cup business. All I want to know is, is it common for kids to come in and tear it up at that level? I wouldn't mind finding out a little more about what he has been up against.

No it's not common at all. It's a hugely strong league. I think NSW/ACT have played all of their 3 games in the TAC Cup now. Now we look forward to the U/18 Championships :thumbsu:

He's ripping apart Victorias best talents, imagine what he's going to do to QLD, NT and Tassie in Div.2

In the TAC ,best of his age group in victoria and tasmania.

Alot of development stuff as its the biggest feeder league to the national draft.

For Broken hill all though its not the biggest league around he's playing against men in the one position you cop it from all angles.

The more you do the more you cop it.

Quite a grounding for a 17 yo.

Are foxtel showing the under 18 championships this year and did they show any div 2 games last year????

I doubt it (hopefully they do) but you can always watch the game on afl.com with Telstra big pond broadband (if the site is working)

Excitement factor lifts another full notch. If it goes up another four notches, he is officially an essential addition to the 2008 list.
If he tears it up in the Championships, I think it will be just enough to see him on our list. With a bullet.

If he tears it up in the championships, I think it will be just enough to see him on a Victorian teams list thanks to another Adrian Anderson special.

I'm pretty sure the AFL would be struggling to take him away from us.

If they try it'll end up in the courts, and they'll lose.

Isn't that what people were saying about Gibbs as well? ;)

Never underestimate the cunning ability of the AFL. If there is a way for them to screw us over, they will do it, not questions asked!

Its a very good U18 Comp. All the best Victorian talents play there and both Victorian teams have been doing well in the champs, so it is a strong league. He sounds a very very good prospect. A good kick helps... we really need a deadly forward who can just maintain scoreboard pressure:thumbsu:. If he grows 190cm+ he might be a great full forward we have lacked in the past few years.

With Gibbs it was more a set in stone rule/law wasn't it? That we tried to get around.

The law is absolute crap, but I think he didn't qualify as a F/S according to the inital law anyway.

I was pretty sure the AFL didn't change the law to screw us over. Just got technical.

Jocularity aside we'll get him for sure....won't we? There is nothing they could do other than blatantly changing the rules to stop us from getting the kid - with Bryce Gibbs I get the impression it was more of a gray area (never did pay too much attention to the debate, just wanted to recruit Gibbsy at the end of it).

To start off with, it’s the AFL and they can (and do) what ever they like to increase the probability in a Victorian side becoming a premiership threat. So until he is on our list, don’t assume anything.

The positive thing working in our favour is that a few powerhouse Victorian clubs have already contracted some kids they are excited about. I can not see them kicking up much of a fuss about changing the rules and allowing Taylor Walker to come to Adelaide because they have this perception that they will win in the long run.

Scott Reed at Collingwood for example. Looks the goods apparently.

Yeah. It was Port who brought it up to the AFL that Gibbs was ineligible. It then turns out Ebert shouldn't have gone under F/S because his old man didn't play the required games in the period set... So basically Port got away with one and we didn't. THe AFL then changed it after the Gibbs saga and its still a very unfair disadvantage to Victorian clubs.

If the AFL does anything to stop us from obtaining him that would render them outright corrupt. With Bryce Gibbs it was an interpretation of the requirements to get picked under the father-son rule. In this case it's a matter of all the clubs getting hold of players through scholarships; they can't change the rules to punish us because we have a better eye for talent than the rest.

I'd say most clubs would have been very keen on the Texas Ranger. I'll just presume, him being a Crows fan, that he rejected every other clubs approaches.

There was enough evidence that they were corrupt re: Gibbs.
When Caroline Wilson acknowledges that we were screwed over - then we were ****ing well screwed over.

Not only that, but the bullshit reasoning that Anderson fed us after we tried to get the rule changed so it was more fair, yet the AFL changed it so it disadvantaged us - as well as other non-Vic teams (resulting in West Coast not being able to Draft J. Morton, despite his brother already being taken under father/son). He actually tried to tell us that they were doing us a favour, by allowing us to draft the sons of SANFL players who are now in their mid 70s.

AA is a corrupt bullshit artist. The sooner this administration is shown the door, the better. I have never called into talk-back radio, but if I do happen to hear him on a show (unlikely because he's a coward), I will give him a massive spray.
