Do you have a feel for who Essendon are likely to select? They have the only true "live" pick in the PSD (though I'm not convinced that GC will take Nablett).

Even with your need for mids Giles may be a chance - clearly they're interested given that he's training at Windy Hill, and they may need to pounce early with GWS and Richmond a chance of nabbing him in the rookie draft.

My gut feeling is that Giles is a massive chance, not saying he is the one I would pick though. I would pick Brad Harvey or Andreoili as the PSD pick and pick Giles or Leif Cope as a rookie pick.

Cameron Bruce will be disappointed that Hawthorn take Miller instead of him.

And Essendon supporters may rush en masse to the nearest cliff, lemming style.

Woops Wrong Player for the Tigers :o

I reckon Essendon will take Ryan Brabazon & in fact would take Justin Madden back before they take Hansen.
Rule number one : If you can't get a game in the bottom team & then get delisted then don't expect a call !!!

At least Spanger played a couple of good games. Hansen is woeful!
My following post is largely irrelevant because I would be absolutely shocked if Essendon went near Hansen, same with pretty much every team. But I get annoyed when players get rubbished unfairly.

Hansen played quite a bit of decent footy and was a vital part of a premiership side. Good average footballer who plays his role in a structure as a lead up CHF. He had a really strong games played to WCE wins ratio for a reason. His body then started to fail him and the modern game has probably past him, but with a bit more luck and being at a team at the other end of the ladder he would still be regarded as serviceable.

Compared to Spangher, who's good games you can count probably on one hand. He's a big strong athletic type but so far a very average footballer. Not saying they can't do it but Sydney have a lot of work to do with him.

For what its worth I also have that gut feeling that Essendon will go with Giles as well. If he's impressed at training it will be hard to pass him up because I don't think he'll be there for Essendon's first rookie pick.

Question to bombers fans, now that he's progressing much better when do you pick Neagle. Are you confident he'll last to your last rookie pick or do you go earlier. He's much maligned but if he's fit he must surely rate pretty well among key forward prospects in the rookie draft.

GWS would be insane (given the one position to not throw in kids to get battered is definitely the ruck) not to take Giles...if you want him you'll have to PSD him...Jenkins you could get later in the rookie though if you go that way.

Hansen is ordinary, he played a role for West Coast when they won..but put a dead dog at CHF/FF with Cousins, Judd, Kerr, etc delivering the ball and they would do a role as well. If Hansen was any good, West Coast would have played him this season, as simple as that.

Spanger isn't bad, but at the same time he isn't that good. Mind you Sydney seem to make the best out of ordinary footballers.

Giles or Brabazon seem to be the most likely PSD pick, although I would not take Giles that early personally. I would rather take Andreoli as the PSD pick.

Neagle and Slattery will be our last two rookies.

Basically what we will get is a ruckman, a midfielder, the maybe a small forward (we have a couple training with us), the Neagle + Slattery.

My preference is to take Leif Cope as he potentially is the 2nd best ruck in the draft, as unlike some of the rucks he has the size to be a full time ruck.

Jay Clark has said that Ash Hansen is getting very little interest from clubs. I doubt very much he'll get a second chance. He was a good player during WCE's glory days, but his body has failed him and he'd be a waste of a pick. Besides, Essendon has better key forward options.

Giles would have to be a massive chance, as he would provide good ruck insurance. There's no way he'll last past GWS rookie picks. I think GC will select Ablett in the rookie draft and Essendon will gamble that Neagle will be there too.

I think we'll go Giles in PSD.
Try and get Brabazon, Hayden yarran in the rookies and I'd be really, really happy if we got those 3.
We need a ruck and a crumber more than we need a 5th/6th midfielder from this draft.

I think GC will pick up Ablett with their last pick, no one else will pick him up.

Agree. No-one else will bother with a guy whose motivation levels seem at best average.

Slattery- Giles, Jenkins and Milera would be good from the PSD/rookie drafts.

Giles or Brabezon I reckon the Bombers will take in the PSD....

If players like Harvey/Milera/Andreoli etc are available early in the rookie draft we may take one of them.

If he doesn't last 'til late, I'm not sure we'll really be that bothered.
Apparently having a much better crack at training but just doesn't have the fitness base & still lags at the back of most drills.

Does have talent. Big question on body.

Whisper is we may have our eye on a fair smokey KP as a contingency plan.
