How many plays from the same team is to much. Example I got Bont, dal and jack
I have those three. Would not put more than two on any line. The only way I'd get another from the same team is if there is a rookie who is playing and there are limited choices.

Pretty set on this team at the moment (ha)

3-3 at the back - not a lot of standout choices down back IMO......Adams is injury prone but with limited options the idea of having a full time mid is too hard to pass up. Lairdy is a star and will average 100. Williams is good value, bit risky, but I think he can lift his average to 95-100 this year.

5-3 in the midfield - For me this is the area to place it safe - Danger, Pendles, Hanners speak for themselves.....think Rocky will have a big year, new coach, new lease of life, hopefully a good pre-season...his ceiling is too high to turn down. Fyfe if he stays fit is the easiest selection, enough said.

2-0 Rucks - Gawnstein.....no point trying to be clever here, the two standouts, set and forget....pricey I know but I like to have one less area to worry about, job done for the year (hopefully).

Forwards 2-2-2 - Dahl and Macrae....two gun mids, with no more Dusty/Zorko/Zerrett...they are obvious choices. Heeney stepped up big time in the finals last year and with a bit more midfield time and an ability to be dangerous up forward, I think he's great value. Ryder I'm not totally sold on but if he's the only Port ruckman in the 22 I'll keep him (lack of forward options and ruck cover).

Rookies - still early days but most look like getting a game early, hopefully enough expensive ones to potentially free up cash when cheaper rookies present themselves. scoach3.JPG

love the guy, will have him in, unless he gets injured pre season

Love the little guy, but I don't think he'll ever recover from his shoulder problems and will play 60% up forward......having said that its Gazza and anything's possible but too much doubt to start him IMO (never thought id say that)

-Fyfe: Is there a bigger bargain this year? Don't see how people are not starting with him (last time I checked SC gold coach picker he was only in 55% of teams - he should be in 100%). Averaged 122.3 and 124.3 in 2014 and 2015 (including scores of 158, 171, 156, 162, 158, 151.... plus a heap of 120, 130+). Is also flying this PS. Predicted average: 122.50

Devil's advocate

games played 16, 21, 9, 19, 18, 18, 5. That's an average of 15.

I think you have to factor in an output of 18 games, 18*122.5 + 4 for random rookie *65 = 112 avg

which is therefore less of a bargain.

risk/reward though

Not JOM, won't start until at least Round 4 from all reports

I'd go Ainsworth to Rioli
Bob to KK/Vlastuin
Webb to best available

And work from there
Why am I seeing everyone float Vlaustin as a defensive option? The guy has never averaged 80+ in a season and is now a fifth year player. He is what he is: average. Callum Mills a better option.

He's one of the few that have been given the pre-season "MOVING INTO THE MIDFIELD" treatment that happens every year. If it does eventuate he'll score a fair few more points playing in the guts than what he has been scoring playing in the back pocket.

Latest version. Thoughts appreciated..

Have gone a 3.5 - 5 - 2 - 3.5 structure. The .5 is Martin with his DPP status.

Down back I've gone cold on super premo defenders. Hopefully get the best three at a cheaper price. Rance and Laird are solid picks and if I'm going to get Adams it's now or never.

In the middle I've got a solid first five with Swallow and two better rookies. Wouldn't mind getting PS or similar in there though.

Gawnstein. Set and forget at this stage. Sandi's injury has messed with everyone's plans.

Up front I like having three premos. I expect these will be the top 3 by season's end. No Ryder or Boyd means I have no ruck cover. This is my biggest worry. Could swap Kennedy for Ryder I suppose and upgrade a mid to Pendles or JPK.
