Well, slowly coming out of detox with no game last weekend.
And I think I must be dreaming, because AFAIK there were no injuries coming out of the Hawthorn game.
And I make 9 sidelined players available for selection:
Davis
McKernan
Cook
Gunston
Jaensch
Schmidt
Sellar
Shaw
Vince
Who has a good enough case to displace an incumbent?
Porplyzia is the only of the latter I can see who hasn't been even 'Burton-solid' of late. Only a select few would I would class as 'rock-solid'. Most of the team has been about as solid as mud.
As much as I love to see the Porps at his best, surely the grace period will expire soon, if not already. Was being named on the bench his 'pink slip'? But are any of the 9 above a worthy replacement? Or can someone in the side fill his void (Stevens, maybe?), and another defender come in?
As for Vince, well, by all accounts Schmidt gave him a towelling, and ankle still seems suspect.
Lots of Q's, not many A's. Would be a brave man to bet on the side composition this week. IMO, probabilities are unchanged about 20%, one change 50%, two changes 20%, 3 or more 10%.
