How is McLeod travelling? Going better than last year? Shame Hentschel did his knee again he is a good player.

Given all their injuries/suspensions we are a good chance to win but I'd rather we play more rookies minus Hill and see how they go instead of going all out (read: adding senior players) to win it.

would not bother me to see them play hill again, he is obviously green but getting plent of games into him will only speed up his development, and lets face it, we arent going to be pushing for a finals birth, we're pushing for a spoon

McLeod dominated in Round 1. Was OK last week. Considering he was supposed to miss the first month after his knee op, he's doing well. Just keeps going.

I bet McLeod has a poster of Neesham saying "not worthy" that he uses to prep against us, knee injury or not he would play against us with crutches and still get 20 disposals.

Good question, I did answer it in another post. Basically we shouldn't be forcing him to prep big time for these AFL games and have him on a heavily monitored diet/training program to increase his size.

When you are in "game day" preparations the diet usually differs from the off season one, as do the supplements and other things you should be on for muscle gain that have a side effect of decreasing aerobic capacity temporarily!

so you think that hill will get greater development by not playing afl at this point? medically that might be the case in theory, however the experience of gameday also has its other advantages

In a way it's better to play your games when you're at a weight that you end up keeping close to for a while. Your movement is heavily related to your muscle distribution, mass, etc. Having him play games at 70kg and next year say he is 78kg might just undo most of what he has learned at AFL level anyhow.

To me it seems a lot better to pull a kid that is skinny out of the game for a while, bulk them up, make them feel like superman, play them in the WAFL and then and only then unleash them on the AFL. There is no rush in having him play games now, we need to get him to his "steady weight" first. The last thing I want to do is ruin him before he gets a chance to prove himself.

I'm suprised Head hasn't retired after last week, let alone getting a game starting 18. Also v. disapointed to see duffield dropped.

Most likely Broughton and Gilmore to come in for Duffield and thornton..

Cant believe Duffield has been dropped

Why is Josh Head going to get another game? It's great to see them bringing all these young guys into the squad, but all that good work is undone by selecting Head.

Looking at that bench, I would say that Hill, Suban and Solomon are all safe. So the last spot will come down to Browne, Clarke, deBoer and Hinkley. Seeing as Bradley and Gilmore are both playing, it seems unlikely Clarke will. While there was an article the other day that said they still wanted Hinkley to work on some things. And as Browne is just awful, I would imagine deBoer will play.

I really think they've missed out, by not selecting Campbell though. He would be a much harder match up for Adelaide than someone like Johnson or McPharlin.

Head still on the ground. This guy is going to play 22 games this season.

Surely Browne will get cut. Happy for any combo of the others on the bench to play, although maybe not Clarke or we'll be too tall.

Still no Roger Hayden as expected i guess :(

Interesting Broughton and Gilmore named in the run on side....so who will be on the interchange.

Would love to see Clarke but would that make us too tall with Clarke, Gilmore, Kep and Sandi?

Maybe i/c will be Hill, Suban, Solomon and de Boer??
