Medders > Lockyer.

Again, this could be another case of us "chasing" goals again if we are having a hard time with another quality and proven goal kicker left out of the side in Medhurst- which is what he does best.

Don't like the idea of leaving players of this quality out of the team- irrespective of how form. Let them play into form. Still, the rest are valid and expected changes, so hopefully yhe boys get the job done on the weekend.

24th of June: CFC

Collingwood

B: Heath Shaw, Simon Prestigiacomo, Leigh Brown

HB: Harry O’Brien, Tyson Goldsack, Alan Toovey

C: Sharrod Wellingham, Dane Swan, Steele Sidebottom

HF: Luke Ball, Travis Cloke, Brad Dick

F: Dayne Beams, Chris Dawes, Leon Davis

Foll: Darren Jolly, Scott Pendlebury, Dale Thomas

Int: Alan Didak, Ben Johnson, Tarkyn Lockyer, Ben Reid

Emg: Josh Fraser, Brent Macaffer, Jaxson Barham

In: Luke Ball, Chris Dawes, Alan Didak, Tyson Goldsack, Ben Johnson

Out: Nick Maxwell (injured - calf), Jaxson Barham, Josh Fraser, Brent Macaffer, Paul Medhurst (omitted)

14th of June: PL87

In: Dawes, Didak, Ball, Johnson*

Out: Fraser, Medhurst, Macaffer, Barham*

Leigh Brown to be the back up ruckman to Jolly with Dawes as a third back up, if required.

Didak will replace Medhurst, Dick having already secured his forward spot.

Ball coming in, at the expense of Macaffer, with Lockyer taking Medhurst's spot, and Ball replacing Macaffer around the ground.

* Johnson is a straight spot for Barham, if fully fit.

**If Maxwell is injuried, obviously Goldsack comes in.

sidebottom, goldsack, ball, dick, jolly... thats the lot of them...

We need Medders fit and firing come September, just hope he's not suffering the recurrence of his foot injury from last year.

Pretty happy with the ins and outs otherwise.

left out johnson, all we need is wood

like all the changes apart from medders, i think they need to play thru him a bit more, we rarely seem to now days. macaffer is well over due to be dropped

So true. I'd hate to be a forward there the way the pill gets bombed in!

Can't think the last time Medders led and was pinpointed with a perfect pass.

Maybe Dawes back may straighten them up a bit and they'll look for the leading forward again??

Nice work. :thumbsu:

I was also very close to the mark. I had Wellingham going out instead of MacAffer, but essentially I got 9/10 changes right.

Very happy with this side, incidentally. I think we pulled the right reins. Wellingham is a serious talent so I'd like to see him regain some form this week, however. Also, Chris Dawes, welcome to the starting lineup for once, no more "interchange" BS! :thumbsu: :)

Close to our best team IMO.

IN: Maxwell & Medhurst (fit & in form)
OUT: Lockyer & Goldsack

The only other possibility is Cam Wood for Leroy but if Jolly is rucking 70/80% of the game, Wood needs to do more while he's rucking and more around the ground when not rucking. Leroy gives us much more flexibility for the 70/80% that the 2nd ruck isn't actually rucking.

Gee, I wrote rucking alot then.

Ruck you.

Surprised Dawes is in with the weather. Thought Medders would have been a better bet, but if he needs a few weeks to get touch that's fair enough.

THAT'S THE PERFECT TEAM.

Well, as far as who is available to play this week.

I couldn't believe it when I saw the team, absolutely perfect outs, absolutely perfect ins.

All 4 of the outs gave us nothing against Melbourne. (Not counting Maxwell, who was injured)

^^
This
No Fraser or Wood so for the first time this year we will have 22 players rather then 21, fantastic team changes

Finally MM listened and went with no fraser/wood and dropped macaffer.

Oh there is a lord out there, Best changes all year.

Very close I reckon.
Wood hitting some form would ice the cake and then Fraser getting a bug in his arse and having a crack at getting 2nd ruck would be the cherry on top.

Great changes IMHO.

Medhurst needs to get some fitness and will be an instant inclusion as soon as he regains form and fitness.

Great to see the sack in. Hope he does well.

And my man Dawes is in. Hopefully he can provide a target in the forward 50 and have a great game.

Funny how this season a rumbling will start on the board about this or that player needing a game or to go and almost like magic the changes come .

Perhaps the board and the selection committee have come into a harmonious synergy.

Better we remember the Roman tradition of marching out of step over a bridge lest a sympathic harmonic resonance bring the whole thing crashing down.

Fair Enough Medders would be more Suited to a Wet Game then Dawes but I this Dawes could suprise in the Wet.

The Wet Game will make Ball Influence even more:thumbsu:

I'm fairly confident with this team.

I don't think that Medders was dropped for form reasons, but for further issues with his foot. He didn't look 100% against the Dees, and maybe the club doesn't want to risk having him travel to Syd, preferring him to have another weeks rest.

Welcome back Sack!
and don't you go back!
no more, no more, no more, no more

:thumbsu: fully agree.....so basically, lockyer and davis must perform this week.....I still think medhurst's omission is too harsh
the rest of team is looking good and Jolly v Mumford is enough to get the big fella to fire up and prove his worth ...go pies!!
