Rod, IMO.You know both Marshs are already in the test side, right?
Could recall Geoff I guess.

Googled how many partners Dave Warner has had as a Test Opener...up to 10 now with Bancroft.
Rogers, Cowan, Burns and Renshaw are the only ones with more than 15 digs as his opening partner. Rogers easily the most, followed by Cowan.
Shaun Marsh has paired up with him 9 times, the late Phil Hughes 4 times and then it’s 1 innings wonders from Watson, Khawaja and Maxwell (!).
Any chance that the fact that most of these guys are cast in a role to accommodate Warner’s attacking style has hindered their own chances on making big runs and solidifying their position?
Mate have a look at the position Bancroft has got himself into while getting bowled by an ordinary ball on off stump on page 86 of today's Herald Sun. The only thing hindering Bancroft right now is his hideous technique mainly how he's moving at the ball and where he's trying to hit it.
And far as Warner is concerned he is someone who began as a limited T20 slogger yet by working on his game became a match winning test class opening bat.

Renshaw hasn't done enough to demand a recall, Burns isn't a long term opener, Cowan is no longer preferred at NSW and I don't think it's sensible to debut a third opener (would Harris be next inline?) so soon after Renshaw/Bancroft.
That means the selectors either stick with Bancroft or reshuffle the batting order. If it's the latter I'd rather move Khawaja up instead of Marsh who looks settled in the middle order.
But then he will get on with everyone. And be 1 of the boyyyzzz. And get on with everyone. And probably be selected.
Or maybe Smith/Lehman like Clarke, Ponting and Waugh before can just pick the best side. Not hard.
Hahaha the "interstate" rule...pretty sure victorias a "state" of Australia in all the same way as WA SANSW etc????....alls that comment confirms is that victorians really do consider their place of being the centre of all things australiaThe interstate rule.
Not surprised Bancroft has failed mostly. The guy barely scored a run in second division county cricket until his last match.
Thanks 'The Governor'Give Finch a go.![]()
His big innings boost his average? I think you're wrong. I think his low scores bring his average down....He's super inconsistent at Shield level too. Has 2-3 big innings a year, which boost his average and run tally, and con people into thinking he's scored a mountain of runs all season.
I'd like to see them drop Khawaja, shift Bancroft to 3 and Renshaw to open.
Unfortunately nobody's form merits that, so I'd probably do a straight swap - Burns in, Bancroft out. Not a fan of Joe but what are you going to do? It's a shame Cowan hasn't been able to replicate his form of last season.
Moving Shaun Marsh to the top of the order is a numpty idea. Maybe if we had a middle order batsman beating down the door, but that's definitely not the case.
