Would you guys like photos of the great man and fellow baby Crows in action? I'll take my camera down if people would like me to.

I'll try and take my camera as well.

What will possibly happen, I'll remember my camera as I walk in the gate.

Crows reserves playing in Clare next week... o_O

Nothing against that beautiful little town but their oval was a bare, sandy shit hole when I saw it a month ago and turns to utter slop every winter.

Do we want Tex running around up there?

Not for me please. Straight back in for the Melbourne game on the pristine Adelaide Oval surface.

When I read that I also thought hmmm not sure playing there is a good idea for him..

If he kicks a bag today and knee is ok he d be a massive chance to come straight in against melb with us being able to pick pods and jj in the same team. We could use him as a bench sub if that makes sense.
Swing pods back to give a backman a rest put tex in for a half every quarter and back our mids in with one less rotation.
Just an idea but with the bye after seems to make sense.

Yep was at the game last week - which was about 99% Centrals. I reckon there would've been less than 100 Crows supporters in attendance.

Wonder where you were, because the number of people with both Centrals and Crows stuff on around us was more than 1 in hundred around us. There was more like 30-40% I would say Crows to Centrals supporters.

Shit that's not good. Ring Sando

The AFC has black listed my phone number
Don't worry my emails go straight to the pathetic agitator inbox.

In all seriousness, if the plan is to play him 3/4s of a game this week and he plays well. Just play him. We can't risk him on a crappy surface.

His afl selection is more about game time and match fitness so regardless of how he goes today he will be back playing sanfl next week

The other consideration is that the 2nd game back from a long spell is know to be the tougher than your first game back and the reason for this is because the player will go through his first post game recovery process / cycle which is a little more demanding given the body has not yet adjusted to regular week in week out footy

It's a pretty safe bet that even if Tex kicks a dozen tonight he won't be lining up against the Demons

The worse thing is that this is not hindsight, this is a risk. But I remember I have heard players saying they are more likely to do their knee on a hard ground than on soft ground. As there is no give on hard grounds.

can goe both ways though, a slip on soft ground can carry just as big a risk

Have you seen the surface or are you assuming the surface is not up to standard

I've been to a few of the NAB regional matches and with each match the surfaces have been to an AFL standard

With this in mind I would be disappointed if the sanfl would not have similar expectations and QA protocols in place to ensure good and safe playing surfaces

I would also expect that the country areas would use all best endeavours to ensure good and safe playing surfaces as this would provide future opportunities to host sanfl matches and AFL NAB regional matches

Finally I would be extremely confident that the club will do its own due diligence to ensure That Tex is not put at risk especially considering they have spared no expense to ensure his recovery not only ticked every box but it was also best in class

The ground has a concrete cricket pitch in the middle!

Now... so does probably half the metro/country football grounds in the state but I don't like it one bit. Sure, they have moved on from the traditional 10 tons of sand and now have grass and these special rubber ball-bearing things to cover up concrete strip which are much better but it is still that for removed from AFL standard it's not funny.

I saw the ground a month or so ago and it was very average. Now, that's not to say that a month of TLC, some warm autumn weather and a bit of rain hasn't got it looking a million bucks but I would put money on Tex not playing in Clare next week.

If that is the case I would expect the club to make the right call and Tex's two games will be this week and the week of our AFL bye

Again if this is the case Our concern should not only be for Tex
