1 week ban for pushing a player in a marking contest. I might be a bit cynical but I couldn't have seen them rubbing out Bontempelli for the same action. I'm sure it would've been "He's lucky he didn't hurt anyone or he could have got weeks for that action" instead of the "The outcome doesn't matter" that they ran with for Tex.

Tex rubbed out but Stewart no case to answer.

Peatling fined for wrestling but Bailey no case to answer.

They couldn’t make it more obvious if they tried.

Missed it while watching and haven’t seen any footage, but whilst rare, it was definitely a thing a while back when they brought it in. Does save the selectors from making a decision again. Assuming TT is still going to be protected from the chop out ruck role. I’d love young Muz to have a belter this week, just to see if we’ll play 4 tall forwards again.

It's the consistency that is absurd, how didn't Georgiades get a week for a push that was much worse?
I'd love an explanation from the AFL to tell us why one was okay and the other not. We're not asking for perfection, just a little consistency.

Nevermind, it's the AFL.

I'm still pissed about TT's suspension, Ive seen 6 jumper punches in these two games this week just as bad.

I'm pretty sure we are the lowest in the league for suspension and since the AFL can't have us look good by having zero suspensions for a season they just make up a couple here and there.

There is a massive disconnect between the force with which Tex pushes O’Sullivan and the pace at which O’Sullivan propels forward.

No doubt O’Sullivan felt Tex’s hands in his back and threw himself forward looking for the free.

I’m amazed Tom Stewart didn’t get a fine. Like seriously WtF.

Eh - I don't think it was a good look and it cleaned up our own captain in the process. I don't think it's completely out of order that he got a week (I haven't seen the Georgiadies incident some have referred to so can't comment)

Although it sucks he is rubbed out I think these force rests for him aren't the worst things at all, we don't really want him playing any more than 15 games in the season anyway - We've known for a few seasons now that when 100% he is definitely worth playing but as soon as he drops below that he becomes a bit of a liability

What? How does Peatling get fined but Smith doesn't??

Haven't rewatched it but it looked to me like Peatling started it ?

If Walker challenged the ban it is extremely unlikely he'll win the challenge. That is the Adelaide rule unfortunately. We have no chance in hell. Bring back Riley, hopefully that extra rest has done him the better. And Fogarty, you need to go harder at it.

If that’s the rule and that’s the penalty fare enough.

But apparently this is the first suspension for this action all year?

So there’d be no footage of similar incidents at all in the last 6 months?

If not I guess bad luck and reasonable outcome to remove the action from the game.

But I very much think the good guy, nothing to see here, lucky to get off with a fine or whatever discount they needed would be found to get star players from certain clubs off.

I can’t see anyone from Collingwood or Hawks or Geelong or wherever missing a final for that action.

Is it a push or more like a hand on the back? Looks like the latter to me
I ageee. It looks to me like O’Sullivan tries to move in front of Tex to block his run at the ball. Tex (who has eyes on the ball) puts his hands up and gently nudges him under the ball so that he can get it out the back. He’s deliberately not pushing with the hands to try and avoid a free. Unfortunately, O’Sullivan loses balance and crashes into Dawson. The contact is heavy, so the commentators try to milk it for drama and the tribunal reacts to the noise.

We should appeal. This is barely a free kick and certainly not reportable.

Nankervis should have got a week for a similar, but IMHO more deliberate, action against North. Nobody got hurt in that incident though, and the AFL has lost the appetite for "risk of injury" suspensions.

Players wouldn't be pushing the boundaries if the rule was consistently enforced.

This is barely a free kick
Walker opted to stay out of the marking contest, there's no meaningful legal contact he can make in that situation.
