Quality fashion from the seventies.

Green, Brown and Red, an underrated footwear combination.:thumbsu:

Denim overralls were all the rage.

I had denim overalls - they were flared and embroidered with flowers. With my Partridge family haircut and red platform boots I was HOT.

(and 8 years old)

The choice of footwear for seventies street urchins.

I'd still be wearing a pair today if I could find them

I think the perennial 70's sneakers or sandshoes as they were also referred to were the Dunlop Volleys and speaking of shoes, who could forget the Kung Fu shoes?

My first board was made out of wood. Very limited handling capacities that one. No doubt some Sk8ter Boi would probably give me a squillion for it now.

Same. With red polyurethane wheels.

Had a plastic board for a while, too.

Sunny Boys, Razz's & Glugs, all of which have made a recent "retro" comeback.:thumbsu:

If you were lucky you'd win a free one inside the wapper.:thumbsu:

The aptly named "free".

Or the SPARX that fell apart after about a week.

Didn't they have, like, 5 or 6 stripes ?

(Ripping extra stripes off runners - to take it back to the Adidas three - was big business back then.)

World Of Sport on a Sunday morning was must watch TV in the 70's.

Good call on Dave Allen, too.

A TV staple of the 70's.

Love the bloke.

Very snappy dresser was Mr Allen.

What about Dick Emery? And the grandaddy of all dodgy 70s TV comedians, Benny Hill? The sketch when he stands in front of the letters "WO" on the women's toilets, leading to the usual 'being chased by women in lingerie' scene is pure genius. That and the one where he's standing behind a hedge with a watering hose so it looks like he's taking a slash used to crack up a young see see every time.

Don't even get me started on the Two Ronnies ("It's goodnight from me and it's goodnight from him"), Paul Hogan (when he really was funny), the Kenny Everett Video Show, the Goodies or the Naked Vicar Show.

All this comedy, six consecutive GF appearances, three Brownlows AND two flags. Great times.

"You're awful, but I like you."

Some great calls there. Watched all of them. Used to be totally hooked on the Kenny Everett Video Show.

And The Naked Vicar Show.....the show that spawned Kingswood Country from a sketch they once did on the show.....plus, Noeline Brown. :thumbsu:

Some other TV shows, in addition to the ones you have already mentioned, that I recall getting a run in the TOD household as a kid - Welcome Back, Kotter, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, HR Pufnstuf, Catweazel, Land Of The Lost, Life And Times Of Grizzly Adams, Battlestar Gallactica, The Muppet Show, The Curiosity Show, The Love Boat, Wonder Woman, Six Million Dollar Man, S.W.A.T. (loved that show), Rat Patrol (ditto), The Streets Of San Francisco, Hawaii Five-o, Charlie's Angels, Little House On The Prairie, CHiPS, Fantasy Island, and The Gong Show.

Just the ones I can recall off the top of my head. No doubt I'm forgetting a heap.

But nothing beats 70's cartoons -

Groovy Ghoulies, Wacky Races, Batfink, The Hair Bear Bunch, Captain Caveman, Scooby Doo, Josie & The Pussycats, Fat Albert, The Beatles, Hong Kong Phooey, Dynomutt, Funky Phantom, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Dastardly & Mutley, Chatanooga Cats, Top Cat, George Of The Jungle, Underdog, Ricochet Rabbit, Speed Racer, The Archies, Magilla Gorilla, Dick Tracy, Justice League/Superfriends, The Great Grape Ape, Inch High Private Eye, Wheelie & The Chopper Bunch, Captain America, and a big favourite of mine as a little tacker, Cool McCool.

"Danger is my business."

The band that laid waste to the 60s and set the foundation for so much greatness in the 70s - The Stooges live in 1970

Was into T-Rex, Ramones etc in the seventies, wasn't until years later found the Stooges & the New York Dolls. Love em as much as the Stones....
