What is your problem with fremantle?

Honestly, it's not like the club has a history of beating your side.

Cat's supporters for years have been some of the best on this site, your giving your fellow supporters and posters a bad name.

Of course Bay 13 doesn't count sabre, but you might not want to go there anytime soon :o

That's said the free in the 3rd (?) quarter where the Freo guy slipped and Josh Hunt, who would have tackled him around the pecs, tackled his head was hard to wear.

The other where Milburn's eyes never deviated from the football when he ran with the flight of the ball and spoiled was tough too, admittedly alot more 50/50 than the Josh Hunt tackle.

The Hunt tackle was bad luck. But a high tackle is a high tackle.

Milburn was hard done by. He had his eyes on the footy and got his hands to it first. The umps have been paying those as frees for ages, and are consistent about it, but I reckon that's a legit contest and shouldn't be a free kick.

The one where he touched (yeah, touched) the Freo guys arm? that was ridiculous. Honestly you see umpires let that go in Netball. Biggest joke of a free kick ever.

Most of the other ones were ok though, but umpires seemed to pay advantage sometimes and bring it back when they got tackled, but one time he called advantage for us and Ablett got tackled almost immediately and was called for holding the ball.

The Hunt one was lame but technically right.

so which of those free kicks did you feel were poor decisions? That stat means nothing unless they were poor decisions. Maybe the Cats' defence was just undisciplined when under pressure.

I'll point to a free kick that was a poor decision. Ablett's staging in the centre square, which for mine was far worse than Pratt's staging against Lewis a few weeks back. That terrible free kick directly resulted in a quick break and goal.

I must say i never thought of Ablett as a stager before. Very disappointing.

I know i'm a broken record about it, but the sooner all this staging is addressed the better.

EDIT: Sorry, other people got there before me about the frees.

My respect for Ablett dropped several notches tonight. Very ordinary.

Everyones repsect for Freo dropped to minus 100 after you lost the game from an unbeatable position. ;)

Tit for tat can be fun...

Everyone has lost respect for Geelong because they only beat Freo (who's form this season has been dismal), by 1 point.

Doesn't make any sense, but nor does yours.

Btw, it wasn't an unbeatable position was it?

Interesting link. I wish someone could make examples in Aussie rules though, because half of these I don't understand.

Yeah, i'm an avid reader of Simmons, he's brilliant but alot of the references you need to Google.

Writes from a fan's perspective because he couldn't get a job in the media, now the most popular writer on ESPN.

Yeah, nice work.
Except, we played shit and still were able to win, and come back from 40 points
Shows the difference in caliber you nob
Did you play shit for no reason, or did you play shit because you were put under pressure by an opposition that played well?

Don't bother answering - we all realise that Geelong could only play badly if it decided to.

Humility? I'm not a player I have no obligation to show humility.
We just won a game we had no right of winning.
That shows massive character, regardless of the fact that we played poor to get to a losing position in the first place.
Stop trying to police a public board with your misguided concepts of humility :o

One day you will realise we are all pointing and laughing at you, not with you. :)

We still managed to avoid a draw ;)
Stop basking in the glory of your team's abilities. They are the only ones who have a right to be cocky about their success. You should just enjoy it while it lasts because it has absolutely nothing to do with you!

A lot of people have loved your style of play, and loved watching you win. Now though you have a few supporters who are really being arrogant tosspots, and are making it not pleasant.
All sides have such supporters...Gross generalisation. No need getting your knickers in a knot over a couple of posts from what are most likely pre-pubescent youngsters.

As somebody mentioned earlier, Geelong fans are enjoying their success but those with longer memories, don't forget what a fickle game footy can be.

I know how fickle footy is.

Unfortunately, I hate to think what you guys would be like if you went back to back.Let alone did what my team did in back to back to back.:thumbsd:

In my view Freo should have got 2 frees for deliberate out of bounds (that were more obvious that Crowleys) in the 4th and I think there were 2 throws by geelong players that were some how missed by the umps......

but in the end I think the 6 rushed behinds in the game may have cost the dockers....

Watching on tv, Freo was down to 19 players for almost the whole second half (Grover, Hayden and Dodd - the backline!). A real gutsy effort, they are devestated, but well done Geelong.

6? Wow, I know I saw a couple that were really weird, with Hayden with plenty of space, walking it through.

In the first half, there were plenty of Freo players throwing it out when tackled.
