I wish it was mate. It hurts me to hear that kind of feedback as a pie fan. But it is all true!

And I've heard the complete opposite from an ex rookie at the club.

Buckley seems to treat all the players the same way, like robots.
Players are individuals what works for Grundy may not work for Fasdolo? For example.
Greats like Sheedy even Malthouse at Collingwood and even recently Clarkson are all great exponents in delivering messages treating players like individuals, yet getting the players to play as one! Beating in the beat of the same drum.

And how is Mick working out at Carlton?

If by beating the same drum you mean playing awful footy then yes, you are correct.

Well it's not necessarily him but there seems to be a few posters who think the list is shit or too young and pretty much bottom four material. These same posters seem to be pissed that we are not playing like a top side eight side. Doesn't quite make sense. So I think it would be a lot clearer if most gave an honest opinion on the list and reasonable expectations for this year. If Buckley fails to meet those then his position should be up for debate.

It breaks my heart when I think back to that season I remember it like yesterday.Saints had the week off before the finals(days of the bye) and came in fresh as daisies I think we lost by 8 pts most of the players were crying I was too.I think if we could have got through that game we could of won the lot I am sure.

We were on top nearly all the 2nd part of that year and the team won all their close matches,Scored 7pts in the final minute to beat the Eagles in perth.I remember the Barcalona olympics were on and we lost to both Fitzroy and Melbourne we still finished equal top and got shot out without another chance bloody devastating.

Im pretty sure we had a few players out too, which didnt help. So long ago but i can remember listening to it on the radio cursing our luck. Nothing is easy at collingwood

But then what fun would these miserable sods have if they aren't afforded the opportunity to pot a club legend on a regular basis.

Aren't these the same posters that were quiet last year when we were 8-3? The very same ones that were dead silent after Round 1 this year?

Why are we perpetuating this myth the BUCKS didn't need to rebuild.
Who of Didak, LB, BJ, Jolly, Ball, Tarrant, missed the elixir of youth that Bucks was handing out.
Are you saying that the big dollars Dawes and Thomas settled for should have been paid by the club.
Should Bucks have chosen to put up with Heater & Harry, who said they couldn't commit to "changing" or kept Wellingham despite off field issues.

Look at the facts without emotion and you will see the BUCKS has taken the right course and made the right decision on all these players.

Of those still playing - who is tearing it up at another club, that you yearn to come back to CFC despite their problems?

I have also heard from a few ex players in the last few years and also a player still playing. Dont bother asking as i wont say.... call bullshit but i wouldnt lie about it cos seeing this stuff happen is shit house. I think his had a bad run with the injuries also taking over a team that won a flag and had few very strong finals campaigns isnt easy to go backwards abit but im still not sold if he is good or bad.

We were the walking wounded mate,that year for me is the reason I get so annoyed about 2011 we could have won that year if we had been better managed we definitely had the onfield talent.
Everyone has to be on the same page and working for the same outcome and if we had been we would have been much tougher to beat,without a doubt the best team I seen at Collingwood and we pissed itall away,I have been watching like Spooner since 76 and some things always hurt and never receed with time.

100% agree on most points as I would expect every player / coach and administration to be reviewed on certatin KPI's " I think supporters get lost on Wins and Losses as the be all and end all " I'd have to disagree with struggle to retain players however ? name a player whom we struggled to retain. with the exception of Beams " and this also depends if he did leave for family reasons so lets take it on face value " no other player has left. Dawes, shaw and H we happily traded and all wanted to stay. Thomas we had no interest in Due to has ankle. " and purely on results thus far seems a good decision " and player development is probably one of the best going around. given that we played finals 10 years in a row we have never had the opportunity to get top picks. and way to early to call under the buckley regime as none of our top picks have played.

No probs we will agree to disagree. There are a number of players who probably should be more advanced than they are including senior players . In terms of player retention it's a tough one because every club will say players have have left with our blessing and aren't required but I bet there would have been a lot of support in and outside the club to retain those players. Plenty were disappointed when it happened . We really need some boys to step up and sure players returning from injury will help, let's hope we can beat the saints .

Reveal who the current player is and let him incur the wrath of the club for being a dickhead and shooting his mouth off. After all, we love the club and these players don't help by revealing internal woes. Love the club? Name the player.

I'm in an area where I can discuss shitty practises with my boss. I respect the fact that he is my boss and don't reveal internal issues to anyone outside because it could destabilise.

Why do you now use a 3 year time frame - when you say you were happy for 2-2.5 years.
At 8-3 last year Bucks was travelling beautifully, and no-one was questioning him - not even you.
Where were your protests last year that there were no "signs of progress/change/life" when we were 8-3.

Give me one expert or commentator that supports your contention that injuries ARE NOT an explaination for our decline last year that ultimately led to missing the finals ( which is your KPI for success).
Just one will do.

So that leaves pre-season games and the ONE loss this year as the basis for your dissatisfaction - you are a very fickle supporter mate.

Don't waste your time on this serial pessimistic, his type will just do your head in. Couldn't even say a good word about Malthouse after he helped us to our first flag in 20 years. Apparently no one is a good enough coach for us

If you honestly believe that the Pies will start playing to half-empty stadiums then I feel for you.

JW see table below which show total attendances and averages in the last column.
Crowd numbers over the last 5 years have reduced 26% from 2010 to 2014 . 16% drop from 12-14 and 11%+ alone in the last full year . No doubt the price of food and drinks have had a major impact . We will bounce back at some stage .

I'm sorry, but the reality is you can't make a full assessment of the situation until the kids come of age. That's the reality.

I'm well aware of the fact that it is human nature but it's also in our nature to avoid potentially harmful situations. Deviations are reported and that's why they make the news.
Of course I vent but never to those outside apart from the Mrs. Guess I'm lucky that she doesn't have a crack at my boss when in the company of others. The only thing I do talk about is how out of touch the main decision makers are in the profession as a whole.
Has been done in my workplace before and nothing good came of it. Rather than cause shit before you leave, just leave.

Two things
1) retirements and how many got picked up by other clubs?
2) superman Walsh was also involved in the so called 'gutting'. Are you spewing that he's gone?
If you said in 2011 that we'd be in this position in 2015, I would have said "yep I'd believe that."

I agree that our list is sub-par but surely a coach in his fourth year at the helm and largely responsible for our current direction should be held accountable for this???

I see this is an issue that has largely come from the years 2007 through 2011. These were relatively lean years in relation to recruiting top end talent. In 2007 Adelaide recruited Danderfield, 2008 Sloane, 2009 Talia, 2010 Brodie Smith. During that time the only A graders we recruited were Sidebottom and Beams. If you want to blame anything about our current situation it is these lean years at the draft table.

In 2007 we traded 14 for Wood which we could have used on Harry Taylor
In 2008 we did not trade and picked up Sidebottom and Beams
In 2009 we traded for Jolly and Ball which we could have used on Fyfe and Sam Reid
In 2010 we traded for Kraks and Ceglar which could have got us Jack Darling.

We are suffering the combined effects of a long period in finals contention, a corrupted draft due to GWS and GC, and trading to try to win a flag and trying to stay there. The system is designed for us to fall in the same way as the Bulldogs and Saints have. Geelong have held on longer than most would expect, but they are in decline. The Hawks will follow at some stage in the next few years as well.

The club identified this problem at the end of 2012 and have taken aggressive action to address the problem. But it is a few years away and we need to be patient. Buckley's ability to coach can only be assessed once he has a better list. MM's current performance shows that it is not the quality and experience of the coach that really matters, it is the quality of the list. The last four years Buckley has largely been coaching the list put together by MM with a short term view to win a flag before he finished.
