The thing is, as was said earlier, these aren’t terminal decisions but added to with the repeat ****ery since the 18 Flag it gets old and the hits compound each time.

As I’ve said, as fans and members we do get the right to an opinion. I believe firmly that they were muddled in their approach which seems to be a regular feature of Clarke. My own view is that he’s not confident enough in his own thought process to stick a plan. Thus we pivot and turn and land face first at times.

Perhaps the club has put a priority on making the Beagles actually competitive.

To do so, you need bigger, hardened AFL experienced bodies. They don't have to be superstars, but just good, reliable WAFL players.

Dev, McRae, cripps etc all fit that bill perfectly

The Beagles being competitive will help and encourage the development of our already young list. Instaed of getting smashed week in week out by 20 goals, which helps no one.

Banfield, evens aren't turning the league needle in a rush next year, them running around in the current Beagles side will do nothing for their development.

We have checked of bringing in more high end young talent. Adding more speculative late picks that probably need time and resources seems not what we need now.

Charlie just wanted to play AFL so happy to go anywhere , so sounds all good !

At the end of the day he's going to be thrilled to be living his AFL dream and there's no doubt St Kilda is going to be a more exciting place to be for the next 2 years than West Coast. Its not about the kid that gets to play AFL being unhappy its about us as fans who have sat though half a decade of absolute filth from this club all being extremely excited to have the kid on the list and having to see him play for another club in order for Jamie Cripps to play another half dozen of the worst games of his 16 year career in order to top up his super.

To be fair the vibe I got from an interview I saw of him with Drew was that a peace had been made that he wouldn't be coming here already. I don't think there are many past players from that 90's era who are nuffie level supporters of the club, most actively despise what it has become and think Pyke is a flog has been my read. Looked like Drew had already convinced him to just embrace going elsewhere.
