I didn't go to any rave parties in the 90s.

The first ecstasy pill I took was off a pommy mate of mine at a party listening to Oasis.

Definitely Maybe is a great album but it sounds even more amazing on pills.

Everyone assumes you listen to techno dance music when you're on ecstasy.

I preferred to listen to regular 90s bands like Oasis, Cake and the Goo Goo Dolls.

Architecturally, the '90's was that link between the older looking houses and the modern shiteness mixed with the occasional modern retro federation and tudor style of houses thrown in.

Oasis reminds me of the 1997 movie Titanic. Gallagher and Cameron were talented and competent but chasing big commercial success and knew, to make that happen, they couldn't be too different or creative for the average person.

I don't mind some Nickelback songs.

They aren't even that bad. It became popular to hate them.
This. Mate and I at work always discuss this.

Its more popular to hate Nickelback than to have your own opinions. Sheeple

On the topic of music i used to have a Backstreet Boys CD in my car for my drives to Melbourne.

I found them really easy to sing along to and would keep me awake rather than doof doof basey music that would normally make me very sleepy.

That droning base sound while driving at night or long distances used to get to me.

I always found Oasis pretty boring and derivative, and then when you start to snort your body weight in blow each day it's never going to end all that well.

Makes me think of later seasons Game of Thrones. Something's not quite right when every man and their dog is a fan.

Their first two albums were great but they went downhill pretty quickly after that, they aren't alone in that department though.

Its cool to like something before it gets popular. then when everyone jumps on, its cool to dislike it

They didn't drop away though like 99.9999999999% of the time that happens. British backpackers in 2006 still loved them. That's a whole decade removed from their peak.

Not an Oasis fan but was at a pub in Thailand years ago and the band played Don’t Look Back in Anger. The singalong with all of the British backpackers was pretty epic!

Lol thats awesome.

Greatest Hits CD?

I love Oasis, but if you really listen to their lyrics, it's a lot of meaningless dross. Didn't Noel write one of their biggest songs in 10 minutes while high?

Alot of hit songs are written that way though...On the spur of the moment from a moments inspiration....Usually on cafe or restaurant napkins....Happenstance.

When the less turdy brother quit the band in 2009 people carried on like it was traumatic.

Expect dumb campaigners to act similarly when Harry Shearer or someone from The Simpsons dies like it matters now.

The Corrs were big for a while

If you were a 40-year-old mum in 1996 you probably love this band.
