It doesn't need to last 5 days to be entertaining, an even with shorter grass it doesn't guarantee the players play out the games.
Considering only one pitch has gone past 3 days so far maybe it's not the curators
For me 26 wickets in 4 sessions is not that entertaining either.

It's the pitch and it's the modern day batsmen with suspect defensive techniques who play a heap of white ball cricket. It doesn't help that the more sound batsmen (mostly Australian) are geriatrics.

These pitches would have been great in the 2000s and early 2010s instead of the roads, but those players are few and far between these days and it's not going to improve. So they need to consider that when preparing in the future.

Frustratingly when it's doing that much it nullifies Australia's superior attack, especially when it's not the A+ cartel out there. Hell not sure England makes 50 against Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood.

Angling in, made him play

Last time we dropped him he wnt back and dominated the Shield. He was rightfully brought back on that form

Only made him play due to poor footwork

I think it's slightly too in the bowlers favour for sure but I don't think it's a sack the curator test crickets ruined thing either. Said this before but I think an average score of 200-300 is a perfect test because all results are in play. Watching both teams score 450 in the first innings is boring as well, nothing in it for the bowlers

Whereas our boys have been a picture of neutrality...

Surprised Punter isn't commentating with the baggy on.

Try watching Fox Cricket mate. All the Aussie commentators have been openly barracking for England the last 2 Test matches.

Slightly ??? its way too green and giving the bowlers too much

honestly if we had 20 batters batting today they would struggle

Dominating Shield bowlers can’t really be used as a measurement these days.

Guys like Handscomb and Harris still regularly top the runs, and Green/Marnus dominate when they go back as well.

Genuinely need to find someone who averages 70+ against the current Shield bowlers.

Is that even a word? It’s fluent Collingwood but I’m not sure if humans also use it. 😂
Yes, it's an expression of surprise.

I just love seeing it used in place of eke. :)

I think the key is to create a contest, not a lucky dip. This pitch has helped equalised the teams… 450 is ok if the scoring pace is ok., I get what you mean and don’t disagree.

Is that why Carey decided to give slips catching practice? (For instance).

The pitch isn't responsible for brain dead batting.

I am not disagreeing that both teams have significant batting fragility, but my opinion is still that a test wicket should have some challenges with the new ball on a new wicket, but i'd prefer a true bat vs ball contest, and i feel like its skewed. If people want 2 day tests, that's fine, but i preferred the Adelaide test, and i feel like i can't really remember when i have watched an MCG test that was a true contest (between bat and ball, as this is a true contest in the sense, its anyone's game still). Anyway, i'll find things to do for the next few days.
