How does Stanley get 2 more years? Spud of the highest order.
Inconsistent but can do over much better rucks on his day.

ruck craft is overrated anyway. Quite a lot of recent flags have been won with journeymen rucks.

Stanley has exceeded my expectations. I expected him to see out his contract with Geelong when he was traded and then be delisted so fair play to him. Has been a lot tougher at Geelong than he was at St Kilda where he was pretty soft and didn't give 4 quarter efforts.

I don't think rucks are necessarily overrated but you can't win by having an elite ruck with a below average midfield but you can win having an average ruck and a class midfield. If you marry the two together you get the West Coast and Sydney teams of the mid 2000's.

Grundy is a gun but it doesn't matter how many taps to advantage he gets if he is tapping it to spuds who can't kick and an ageing Pendlebury / Sidebottom. If he had guns around him then Grundy's dominance would show up on the scoreboard.

Probing and Roasting? That's quite the weekend you've got planned.

“Gee, I don't know what you've got planned for tonight, Homer, but count me out!”

Still prone to the odd quarter by quarter white flag effort but similarly the odd superman cape effort.
But still better than the resident village idiots are giving credit for.

That's probably it. Their are hardly the priority draft targets for most but can become the cherry on top.

Considering we got pick 21 for Christensen and traded that for Stanley, I'd say we probably ended up winning that deal in the end.

Stef Martin hail mary coming up this week. Huge risk, but we can't carry Young in the ruck in a prelim final.

I know he’s struggled but surely English is better than Young in the ruck? And to be fair I don’t think English has offered much up forward lately

English is a 2nd ruck/forward, he needs a decent partner. English was pretty good in the last quarter last week, but he needs to be able to float around to be at his best.

I can read it back 100 times and still can’t tell if TB is saying Josh Mahoney should coach Carlton if Brad Scott becomes the GM of football for the AFL or that Josh Mahoney should become the GM of football for the AFL if Brad Scott coaches Carlton.

Pretty sure it's Mahony might be the GM for the AFL.

Tom Browne said Brad Scott to Carlton is “gaining momentum”, but then the AFL looks set to announce Brad Scott as GM of footy, immediately after saying that (Brad Scott, GM of footy) he said Josh Mahoney could be announced in “that role”. So it leaves us with, Brad Scott could be Carlton’s coach, but he could also be the GM of footy, and if that happens, Josh Mahoney could have “that role“….. meaning the role of Carlton coach or the AFL will have two GM’s of footy in Brad Scott and Josh Mahoney.

You seriously need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills mate.

If there was an award for saying something without really something Tom Browne would be the winner every year

Tom Browne on Friday Nights game:

“Melbourne go into the game as favourites, however Geelong will enter the game with confidence as they held a 44pt lead over the Dees only a few weeks ago, but during that game they allowed Melbourne to storm home and win it after the siren, so that will be in the cats’ heads, and the Dees will enter fridays game with great confidence.

“The game could go either way, hard to pick a winner, the winner goes into the GF, so a lot on the line for these two teams”.

Is that a real quote?
