Ok im not fanboiing right? You guys see this too right?

Thiago has just completely changed the game.

We’ve had our wingers clearing the ball away in wide areas for 4 games straight, our last 3 goals have come through the middle.

When he and shaq came on our dimensions multipled by many.
They really did. The difference with Thiago is that he is always looking to make the killer pass. With our system, we value possession and work the ball from side to side, use our FB's, like just grind the opposition into dust. Teams are aware and so often I feel they are anticipating the pass to a full back out wide and instead Thiago no looks a square pass into Shaq who turns feeds Salah and Salah scores.

If Gini or Hendo pick the ball up there, they make that pass to the full back out wide which is fine, we have been very successful with our system and full backs and guys like Gini and Hendo are hugely important for ball retention but throw Thiago in amongst those two and suddenly we have way more strings to our bow.

In the first half we were looking to set a world record for most passes without creating a chance. Possession is all very well but too often this year it has been sterile and useless possession.

Yeah and Thiago changed that immediately. I pray he stays fit because even in our recent run of poor results... it was a 1-1 draw, a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 loss. We're ok defensively. But the goals have dried up. We need to get back firing to get the goals to win games.

We're not OK defensively, we are having to change our way of playing to protect the likes of Rhys Williams & Nat Phillips who simply are not up to playing Premier League football. We could put any footballer in at CB and they would do ok.

Look, the club's attitude to transfers has been not to overpay for anyone or to settle at any time. It has got us this far (EPL, UCL, Super Cup & CWC).

But the club really does need to access another PL quality CB as soon as possible. Then in summer we can make a decision about Matip (Gomez is English and can play across the back four - he ain't going anywhere).

Oliver rubbing salt into the wound. It seems our players should have remonstrated strongly to the tackle and Virgil should have probably rolled on the ground a few tines Neymar style for T Rex to have had any chance of copping a red card, FFS.

Quite ridiculous that he says more protestations by our players would have led to a red card being dished out. Most of our players were more concerned about the welfare of VVD after he was taken out by Pickford then to worry about raising the issue with Oliver.

From the sound bites I am hearing in the press it sounds like we have a player lined up but are nowhere near negotiating an acceptable transfer fee. We're going to have to overpay somewhat to get a deal done unless we're buying from a club who are desperate for the cashola.
