With a lot of the phantom drafts on this board starting to look pretty similar, I thought it'd be an interesting exercise to combine a few of them and come up with a broad picture of how BigFooty thinks the first two rounds of the draft will pan out.
I've used 13 individual phantom drafts and the official trial run in coming up with the following:
1. Melbourne - Jack Watts
All but one person had Watts as the number 1 (someone picked Naitanui to be different)
2. West Coast - Nick Naitanui
Fairly even split between him and Rich, Naita ahead 9 to 5.
3. Fremantle - Daniel Rich
Everyone has pretty much assumed Freo will pick whichever of Naitanui and Rich we don't take, which is fair enough.
4. Port Adelaide - Tyrone Vickery
12 of the 14 had Vickery here. The others had Hamish Hartlett.
5. Essendon - Michael Hurley
More than half of the sample picked Hurley to bolster the Bombers' defence. Hartlett got named a few times here as well.
6. Carlton - Jack Ziebell
5 had Ziebell being picked here. Most of those who didn't have Hurley going to Essendon had the Blues picking him up.
7. Brisbane - Hamish Hartlett
There was a fairly even distribution of Hartlett between picks 4 and 10. I've put him here because 3 people had him here. 4 had Ziebell but he's already gone for th purposes of this exercise. 3 people had Yarran here as well.
8. Richmond - Steele Sidebottom
People were divided as to whether Richmond would go tall or small here. 4 people had Rusty as the pick. If Richmond go tall, 3 people thought McKernan was the man.
9. North - Tom Swift
Most had North going for a mid here, with Swift the most popular (3 people picked him).
10. Adelaide - Lewis Johnston
Almost everyone had Adelaide going for a tall, with nine people naming local boy Johnston and another three naming Trengrove.
11. Collingwood - Sam Blease
Basically people had Collingwood picking whoever slipped out of the top 10. Four people had Blease here, five had Swift.
12. Sydney - Shaun McKernan
A broad consensus that Sydney will go tall, with McKernan (4), Johnston (4) and Trengrove (3) the options.
13. St Kilda - Jackson Trengrove
Three people had Trengrove here, but the majority of people had the Saints going for a small, with Blease (3) and Hill (2) the other popular choices.
14. Bulldogs - Ayce Cordy
Everyone had Cordy here for some reason. If you ask me it shows a reluctance to think outside the box
15. Geelong - Aaron Cornelius
Quite a variety here with Cornelius being named twice, as were Hill and McKernan. Geelong have a habit of being unpredictable of late (see e.g. Taylor last year).
16. Hawthorn - Jordan Lisle
Five had Lisle going to the premiers, Robinson and McKernan were other popular choices.
17. Melbourne - Stephen Hill
Nearly everyone had Melbourne going small with this pck after taking Watts at 1. Hill got named 4 times, Robinson, Suban and a slipping Blease were other options.
18. West Coast - Chris Yarran
A tough one to slot in, some people had him as high as pick 5. Four people had him here.
19. Melbourne - Mitch Robinson
Another tough one to slot in. Most people had him going around this pick. Four people had Cornelius here and three had Roughead. In reality I'd expect the Dees to go tall with either 17 or 19.
20. West Coast - Michael Walters
There's talk the Eagles are keen on this kid, and seven people had Walters here. In reality I wouldn't expect us to take both Yarran and Walters.
21. Fremantle - Nick Suban
Three people had Suban here. A couple had Jetta and a couple had Robinson.
22. Port - Rhys O'Keefe
Five people had ROK Mk II at this pick. Suban was another option.
23. Essendon - Nick Heyne
Three people had Lisle lasting to this pick but I've given him to the Hawks. A couple had Heyne and a couple had O'Keefe here.
24. Fremantle - Neville Jetta
The talk was they wanted Walters, but Jetta is another good choice as Farmer's replacement.
25. Brisbane - Matt Broadbent
Heyne and O'Keefe were other popular choices at this pick, had they survived this far.
26. Richmond - Tom Rockliff
The consensus is the Tigers will go tall here, although there's a wide range of views on who they'll take. Lynch, Roughead and Redden were some of the other options.
27. North - Ryan Schoenmakers
Another one where there was a broad range of views. Schoenmakers got named a couple of times, which is enough to give him the nod here
28. Adelaide - Clancee Pearce
A couple of people had Pearce here, others had Adelaide going tall with Schoenmakers and Lynch the main options.
29. Collingwood - Ashley Smith
Three people had the draft camp bolter going to the Pies.
30. Sydney - JOrdan Roughead
A few had him going to Melbourne at pick 19 but I had to slot Robinson in there, so Sydney reap the benefits.
Three people picked him here.
31. Bulldogs - Paul Cahill
Most had the Dogs going tall with their consecutive picks here. Five had Cahill at this pick and another three had him at 32.
32. Bulldogs - Tom Lynch
...and Lynch was the second most-popular option. A few other clubs will look at him in the 20s so the Dogs will be lucky to get him here.
33. Geelong - Kade Klemke
There was a wide range here. I've named Klemke because a couple of people had him here, plus I like the name.
34. Hawthorn - David Zaharakis
A few have him going earlier, so the Hawks might have a steal here.
