I enjoyed it, mainly because the unseen/unknown can be much scarier than any Hollywood Box Office rubbish. The movie actually made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Especially when they were hearing those weird noises in the black of the night.

I did read somewhere that something similar did really happen in America. Three people went missing deep in some woods, and they found their video camera footage. It was never released due to the fear of alarming nearby residents.

Maybe they just grabbed a nearby doof doof nightclub crowd who just didn't get it?

The movie was scripted, and actors knew that at the start. The stuff about they didn't know it was real was bollocks and just a publicity stunt (surely no-one believed it!).

And yes it was Mike in the corner, not the guy who went missing.

Great movie, only one in recent years that was even slightly scary. Shows you don't need ridiculous monster masks or blood and gore to be scary.

Exactly. Its one of the great psychological movies ive seen. No gore, no murder scenes, just getting your mind working. Great stuff.

Lol, back in the day my friend was convinced it was real footage so I rediculed him and bet him $15(I was young, it seemed like alot of money at the time) that it wasnt. Still havent got that money, it was worth it just to laugh at him for thinking it was real footage though.

That's pretty haunting.

The full story is it was never released because of the first two cops who viewed the video. The first cop slammed into a tree on his way home that same night he viewed the video.

The other cop disappeared without a trace a few weeks later.
