The Bowden Predicament

It has just about reached boiling point, that is the case of whether to hold on to or to trade Joel Bowden. With a decimated backline and reserves who can't get a game I feel this is the week to make the move. He still has considerable value at 389k meaning there is profit to be made by trading him to a Waters, Birchall etc and with the majority of teams suffering from the Cornes injury it will be make or break for Joel Bowden.

This brings me to another vital decision, if he is back this week will it be worth holding onto him? Can he hold his spot in the side? Has been a costly player for many DT coaches out there and leaves something to ponder this week until teams are named.

Having him on the bench with Cornes is gonna be very painful I'd say. A total value of over 800k on the bench may be too much for me to take. My backup plan if he doesn't play may be a downgrade to Jake King.

Piss him off.. while he still has value, Goddard is the man, if Bowden finds form eventually when he gets back he could be an upgrade target for your worst back... I find it amazing that people have bigger problems than a bloke nearly 400K who has put in 4? doughnuts. I got rid of him last week, think about it... he was taken out the team because he was to loose in defence, therefore when comes back he wont be able to afford to do this. Goddard's first half last week showed how valuable he can be.

maybe they could've beaten WBD & HAW if Bowden had of played.
they only have 1 draw to show for it.

Bowden wouldnt have made a difference in the last 3 weeks,He plays as a loose man in defence and never picks anyone up.Just racks up useless stats that are only good in DT comps.You cant deny the fact they have played better without him and if you keep the faith with him you will be lumped with lots of zeros in your backline or forced to play rookies who will give you bugger all.Have a look at the top ranked Dteamers and you will find that none of them have him

If you haven't already jettisoned him, you'd be crazy not to this week. Shaw is the obvious upgrade if you dont have him, also Goddard, PBurgoyne and to a lesser extent McLeod. Thats almost $400k sitting there for a few weeks now doing nothing.
