How's he getting on? Anyone seen him training yet? Any inside info from the club?

I saw him on monday. He's got some strong leg muscles, but his kicking is flawed by the way he holds the ball (underneath it). But things like those seem to gel in after a few years, he should be fine.

For those who haven't seen him i reckon, after a big pre-season in the gym working on his upper body, he'll look a fair bit like Scott Freeborn did. Solid, blonde 6 and a bit footer who'll be strong at the contest.

In all honesty guys .. I hate to be the pessimistic one ... BUT

Unless they are agile KPP or ruckmen like the O'hAilpin's .. I don't see what a 185 cm player from Ireland will add ?

They are at a disadvantage in terms of having to learn the game and basic skills of the game - so what edge does Shields have over your average 185 cm Australian boy who already is developed ?

I'm hoping for something between David-Rhys Jones and Lee Mathews...not taking into consideration their football abilities. Plays off the bench as an impact player......literally.

can see shields being our ''stevie baker[st.k] '' shite type---some real aggression at the footy & the man with the footy--- hamill was only 184cm & we've missed that 'nasty' type who never lets up-- with 2nd, 3rd & 4th efforts---important to keep the ball in in todays footy to frustrate rebound out of defence that CFC has suffered from for last 6 yrs---THE WRAPS ARE HE'S SUPER COMPETITIVE
