too damn cold and wet right now, but looking forward to getting into a bit of fishing over the summer.

Ern Halliday Recreation Camp. At least back then it was on the edge(ish) of the metro area, now it's just in the middle of the northern suburbs. About five minutes from my place in fact.

I'm going to the excitement of Woodman Point in a couple of weeks to help out on one of my kids camps.

Went to Nanga on the weekend just gone, good fun canoeing and rafting even though the weather was crap.

I went to Ern Halliday for my year 8 camp. At the time I thought it was a bit lame because it was catching a bus from Perth to go to Perth.

Then I went to uni with a guy who did the same camp from St Mark's Anglican school. Google maps has it as 2.5km walk, which I think he said they had to do.

Forest Edge camp in Waroona is pretty fun. I think it was badly damaged during the fires though.

Out.... doors...?

The ocean is life for me. Put me in the water to surf or dive and I come alive like you wouldn't believe. Absolutely love it and people that don't get amongst it are seriously missing out.

i have some great childhood memories of christmas school holiday camping trips to Beachmere a very small (at the time- late 60s early 70s) bayside village about an hour north of Brisbane. some memories-

1) it felt like a massive trip at the time, even some gravel road in the last bit of the trip into Beachmere.
2) met and had a great time with the same group of kids each year. going off on our dragstars by ourselves after a camp breakfast, popping home for lunch and off again until sunset.
3) sleeping on the old fashioned fold away hessian camp beds.
4) chasing soldier crabs.
5) running to the local store for our daily ice cream treat.
6) campfire.
7) the village kids activity hall with table tennis, pool, pinball.

Belanglo State Forest is a great place to camp, if anyone wants any advice on the quiet areas let me know when you plan to be there and I'll help you out.

I would love to see the memorial they have there srs.

But I'm a weirdo.

I definitely got a "rapey" vibe going to and from the toilets in the middle of the night. (was busting to go).

Yeah I was outta there the next morning first thing.
Yep, there definitely is a type that frequent them and not the type I feel comfortable hanging around.

Imagine living in one of them. Would have to be the most depressing thing ever to have to.
:$
I lived in one for a couple of months when I moved to WA because it was hard to get a rental. Was, lets say, interesting. The villa had its own shower and toilet so it was upmarket but still, some very weird people coming and going at odd hours.

Ugh stayed at one in Torquay- absolute campaigners who ran the place wouldn't even let us check out an hour or two late.

And ppl next door had a party till all hours of the morning.

Have stayed at one in Geelong tho a few times and had no problems at all.
