I’d say aside from Buckenara not clearly stating Walsh is an A Grader his ratings probably not that far off the mark.
It’s pretty much what a lot here have been saying all year in that we have some top end talent but far too much of the list is middling at best.
So just Walsh is off the mark? Not Weits? The whole list is laughably bad.

Yes we have lots of talent underperforming but he hasn't even got that right.

He has Weitering as B grade. That's all you need to see to know he has no idea. Not to mention not having Walsh already as A grader.

Also, his ratings are based on performance this year which is short sighted.
Charlie Curnow C grade? Maybe on his few games this year, but before injury he was A grade.
Jack Martin certainly has the ability to be better than C grade. I'd have JSOS as B grade.

A better coach and system will allow players to perform to a higher standard.

Clearly Walsh is an A Grader and I’ll also concede Weitering too, although I personally think he’s a little too prone to getting beaten by leading forwards (as we saw this year with the likes of Miochek, Max King, Tom McDonald and Larkey beating him), but you simply cannot say that Jack Martin or Charlie are A graders based on what we’ve seen. Sure there is the potential to get there but neither have come close to putting together an All Australian season, something that A graders do regularly.

Also we love Jack SOS for his effort and passion (his performance against the Saints was my personal highlight of the season) but I think Buckenara got his assessment of him right too.

Unpopular view but the reason why we can’t win 10 games in a season is because we have too many players who haven’t realised their potential, some under more than one coach too, so it’s high time some of these guys proved their wares…before it’s too late for them and us!!!

Several things:

What has Will Setterfield ever done that would put him at the same perceived level as Sam Walsh or Jacob Weitering? In what way is Sam Petrevsky-Seton at a similar level to Liam Jones or Sam Docherty? And that's just within the B tier.

Jack Silvagni's C grade? Jack Silvagni's at the same level as McGovern???

That tier list somewhat uncovers the utter nonsense that tier lists represent, as well as provides for the reader the impression that Buckenarra has not watched a game of ours this year if at all over the past 2 seasons.

Sam Walsh, B tier. Piss off.

I agree he has overrated Setterfield (and possibly Marchbank) and he should have clearly stated Walsh and Weitering are A Graders, but I don’t think anyone else deserves a higher rating.

There is a reason why we can’t even win 10 games in a season and that’s because a lot of the players haven’t delivered to their potential, which I think all us fans can see in many of them, probably more so than outsiders like Buckenara.

This underperfomance is something that urgently needs addressing not only for the sake of the club but also for the individuals because I can see a lot of careers ending if 2022 plays out in a a similar manner to 2021.

... which is a reason why his list isn't apt.

Which is the complaint.

People are not objecting solely to Buckenara's characterization as far as underrating players goes; they're complaining about those he overrates, too.

The article is so wrong that it isn't useful, either as critique or as encouragement.

Yes, they 'underperform' but their best is still not up to the draft/trade currency used to acquire them. They underperform partly because they are given roles they are not qualified to handle, both in terms of player position and ability.

The only people who get 'Carltonised' when they come to the club are the recruiters and the people who give them a 'pass' rate.
I’m not sure what you mean. I think you're saying that recruiting, rather than development, has been substandard? It’s probably a mix of both.

‘No. No I’m not’: Highly rated assistant coach the latest to reject Blues

"No. No I’m not (going to entertain it)," Leppitsch said on SEN’s Whateley.
"There’s moments where I think yeah I’d actually like to be a senior coach again one day but it’s not in the now for me.
It’s got nothing to do with Carlton, it’s got nothing to do with anything else other than not now. It’s as simple as that and I’m pretty comfortable with that."

Good…he comes across as a jackass on Fox Footy doing his superficial analysis, not to mention he left Brisbane in a very bad way when he was rightly sacked as head coach.
Happy he is not in the running, although dont believe he ever was. His reputation after Brisbane was not good. Voss on the other hand, had areas to work on and was handed a dud deal when they signed Fev.. He has also gone to Port, learnt and improved I would be more than comfortable to give Voss a crack provided he had adequate support around him..
