Fox Sports showing the teams in the premiership window this season, based on being top 6 for offence and defence. Blues sitting in top 6 for defence, but not offence (9th).
I decided to apply the same metrics to my ladder for the 2nd half of the season, and also did one for the past 8 weeks.
For the past 11 games, we have moved to 7th for points for and 1st for points against.
For the past 8 games, we have jumped to the top in both metrics.
The only two teams in the top 6 for both in the last 11 games is GWS and Lions.
For the past 8 games, it changes to Blues, GWS and Dees.

How's this for stat?

In the last 8 matches, we are ranked 1st in offence, where we have played against the following ranked defences: 2nd (Saints) and 5th (Dees).

We are also ranked 1st for defence. Where we played against the following ranked offences: 3rd (Pies) and 6th (Dees).

Not sure where to put this, Mods move it to whichever thread you prefer

Around this time last year and early on this year, many aspects of our club came into question, especially when discussing what's needed to take the next step, to play finals/contend

Suggestions that we were mentally weak, needing a sports psychologist (even though we had one), poor culture, to bring in staff and players that had finals/premiership experience, to cull the list by 10-15 players and of course sack and replace the coach and assistants

What we have seen, is what most of the successful clubs do, back in their people

Create an environment of growth to challenge people to become better, better for the whole, selfless, etc

Ultimately, it always comes down to building continuity and cohesion as a talented group that this year entered its prime years

What a wonderful platform to springboard the club, endeavouring to reach the ultimate prize

Here's one for the numbers people. We are on a 9 game winning streak. The last good winning streak we had was in 2000 where we won 13 games in a row. If we are to beat that this season we will be winning our 14th game on grand final day. It's a long road ahead but let's hope we beat that old streak!

Thought this would be the right thread for this. I’ve been working in Sydney for most of the year but I’m finally back (thank god), so I haven’t been to a game at Docklands all year and I can’t find any member info in my emails. Anyway, is the Captains Club still in the Victory Room at Docklands? Hoping to get there early for a few beers. Cheers

Yes It Is GIF

You are welcome.

I’ll be in there tomorrow.

Our Captains Club seats are below the Victory Room.
Fantastic, me too. Much better sitting in there than sitting in the pub pre game and rushing over. They’re great seats down there, sounds like it’s all the same as previous years, it’s a nice little set up all in all.

We have had our same reserved seats since we moved to Docklands in 2005.

That’s awesome. Kind of miss that. We’ve just been sitting wherever since we left Princes Park. I was only a kid but I really miss those seats and everyone around us!

Try & get reserved seats for next year.
Yeah, will be in Melbourne all year next year and I’m keen, will try and talk the old boy and his mates into it. Really not much more money in the scheme of things.

I believe we had a fair crack at talking Healy out of retirement to play for us? Perhaps I am wrong. But I have a vague recollection.
Nothing would surprise me during that era - were not many big names we didn’t approach.
More recently we did ask him to be part of the panel to find a coach to replace Teague … but he said no. He said we should appoint Ross Lyon.

The footy shows tonight (and last week) really highlighting our terrible score from turnover numbers. Very interesting reference, I’m surprised we are ranked so low.

We're ranked so low because we generally win the ball first rather than rely on other teams making a mistake.

It was only a few weeks ago that we were lauded for our "premiership winning" stats.

They have been highlighting our poor scores from turnover stat for quite a while.

Mystery over. Gerard Healy hates us.
