not the end of the world I spose but if your name isn't patrick cripps or sam walsh it might be a little deflating to know you won't be winning a b & f anytime soon - attack me in a pincer movement........

I'm sure other players will more than console themselves with premiership medallions and Normy Smith Medals all spread over the next decade.
You can also put me down for Samo winning a B&F within 3 years.

But seriously, don’t forget to get your prescription renewed in September. Medication only works if you take it.

Wasn't for me.

Was actually getting an antidote for Sam Walsh who is currently suffering from severe leather poisoning...

Don't under-estimate how good Samo going to become. He not even getting started yet imo of what he going to become.
no question - he currently has little knowledge of how good he could be I reckon..........

Reminded me a lot of 2018 Steele Sidebottom last week

Floating in between gaps and hitting targets at will

Death by a thousand cuts

Does remind me a little of Daniel Kerr is how nimble he is in traffic but I believe SPS just got more ability in how he going to use the ball. Little bit of Diesel about him too but Diesel is really rare air. Not even sure Samo's best can deliver a ball like he could in traffic, but he is working his way in that direction.
To me SPS looks like he been learning on the job what he can do and some stuff not many others can do. That kick to Gibbs in first season v Collingwood I think we will see more and more as time goes on. But death by a thousand cuts is a good description of what he going to do regularly to other teams.

I'd be happy if he levels out at Sidebottom's quality - but in news just to hand..........

That's funny because I think compared to Sidebottom, SPS is 'more inside'...

Storm sitting at 6-2 and he's threatening to sack players. Seems a very different approach to modern AFL coaching communication. Polar opposite to Bolton.

There's no going back to rezzies to find form it's perform or your goneski!
I realise its comparing apples and oranges, but the way he speaks is refreshing.
Doesn't worry about hurting anyones feelings, calls a crap performance a crap performance.
Are AFL players now so mollycoddled that they're immune to public criticism from their coaches?

Give me "that was crap" over "learned behaviours" any day.

He's certainly been the most successful coach of any code over the last 15 odds years....must be doing something right.

A fantastic coach in the home and away season but has fallen short in the big one a lot, there is a lot to gain by employing people from other codes as they possibly have approaches differing to ours.

I wonder what Billy Slaters role at St Kilda is.

I really hope we bring in Cam Smith into a leadership mentoring role next year

Newsflash team at the bottom of the ladder has bottom of the ladder stats.

Young players being asked to do too much are struggling to perform.

Edit - Re Marchie -How many preseason/reserves games did he play before being brought back from injury?

Maybe with CC we should wait till he plays 2 bad games in row before sinking the boots in.

It doesn't matter where you are on the ladder or how in experienced your team is, pressure and tackling are an indication of gameplay and effort.

We are a horrible pressure team and a horrible tackling team, the tackling is by design.

I hate it.

Matthew Lloyd is probably trying to help his brother out. It looks as though Lloyd has got Bartel's backing not to bash us in the media. It's clear Barrett wants to sink the boots into Carlton but he's getting absolutely no support from his co-hosts.

The bulk of our midfield is under the age of 22. North had a group of older, bigger bodies in the midfield. A disappointing loss can happen under these circumstances from time to time, especially with a developing squad:

Setterfield: 21 (coming off an ACL)
SPS: 21
Fisher: 20
Dow: 19
O'brien: 19
Stocker: 19
Walsh: 18

Whilst i know we are young and light on with experience, the coach and match committee need to take a bit of responsibility for the side that they send out when things don't work out.

We could have played Setterfield or Kennedy ahead of Stocker and the team would have been more experienced and competitive for it, the same goes picking one of those two for LOB.

We could have played Setterfield or Kennedy instead of Casboult.

Curnow was underdone and it showed, who was responsible for bringing him back last time obviously not ready as he missed games immediately after.

Some decisions are forced, some are errors but many times this year we could have played a more competitive side.

It's hard to know if it's lack of effort or poor structures and team balance... Or both. Honestly it all has to have an effect.

No Eddie, Clarkson will never coach Carlton I actually think its extremely inappropriate that a club president can undermine two other clubs and coaches publicly.
There's a feeling I get deep in my gut that Clarkson will be coaching the Blues next year, as much as I despise the filthy little sniper.

Dawks are at the crossroads at the moment, and it almost feels that his time there is done, and it'll be handed to someone fresh to take over the reigns into their next phase. Mitchell being the obvious appointment.

It's just a feeling I have that our Board will thank Bolts for nurturing the young group, Clarkson will take over the reigns to escalate them upwards. Our Board has already recruited one of the top list managers in Agresta...similar with Lloyd as the Head of Football, and Jack Russell as the leading Director of High Performance in the AFL. Clarkson would just be the next piece in the puzzle.

Edit: I have no doubt that we are already feeling him out, and have even less doubt he would be considering it
