Pick 4 + Johnstone/Bruce + Green. That should do it i reckon.

In saying that the Judd deal is going to involve around 5 clubs i reckon.

Would you trade moloney and your 2nd pick for a late first rounder and a late 2nd rounder? You could then offer 2 first round picks and maybe a kpp like miller for judd?

I was out one nite and ended having a few drinks (during the off-season) with Moloney, He himself was a melbourne supporter as a kid and loves melb to death, He hates collinwood with a passion and his favourite moment in footy. Was kicking a goal with his first kick for melbourne against Essendon round 1 2005 in the Troy Broadbridge tribute match.

We cant trade Rivers or brock.

Would this trade work?

West Coast give up Judd and our second round pick

Melbourne give up Robertson, their first rounder and their second rounder

Sold Reapy! I've been pimping an idea like that for a while and I think it's pretty fair for both teams now Judd is leaving.

Robertson is 29. The only way that would work is if the Eagles just gave Judd the Dees gave Eagles Robbo and their first 2 picks.

Even then I think we'd be ripping you off significantly. The problem with Robbo is he wants a three year deal I doubt WCE'll give him that. Although if he's going to a successful club it might change his tune.

Another unforeseen problem is that Judd is returning home for family reasons most Victorian players'd probably say f-off for trading them West of the Border so Vic clubs that have good young WA talent i.e. Ess may have an advantage in that respect.

Also Judd might look at Carlton and think they can give the Eagles the most value out of this so that might sway his decision he strikes me as a pretty honourable type.

Anyway I'd sell the farm to get him in Red and Blue. This is the best player in the comp we're talking about here ladies any cost is outweighed by the benifit.

I swear to god Paul Gardner, Craig Cameron and whoever else Garry Lyon if need be better be ringing the man asap and making sure he knows just how much we want him here.

We could still offer a reasonable sum of money, he gets to play for his childhood team and we have the bargaining chips for a trade.

It all depends how much he loved the Dees as a kid really he could come out today and say i really wanna play for the Dees, unlikely but possible. In any case we are closer to a flag than say Carlton and we could be straight back up again next year

Imagine if you were a star footballer and got drafted out west then 6 years later after being decorated as a star players premiership/brownlow etc you could return to the Dees. I dont see why we wouldnt be a big favourite in all of this. CAC make it happen!!!

I also beleive we shouldnt give up everything for him we just need to hope we are high on his priority list which we might find out at 12pm today.

If Judd decides the Dees are is club of choice I might finally be able to forgive Scott Thompson, happy that we have finally been compensated.

Judd would be ridiculously massive to the Club. More members, bigger crowds= better fixturing ie Friday night games at the G
McLean and Rivers are off limits. They can take anything else lol

Too true. Judd leaving West Coast= Barrassi leaving us in 1965. It ruined us for the next 43 years. Does anyone else belive in fate? Judd returning, a new coach, maybe this club will get somewhere!

As an impartial observer, can I just comment how delusional some of you Melbourne supporters are. Your team finished in the bottom 4 and you think you can get judd by offering 2nd round picks and injured players over 25? And thinking you are in the box seat because he used to barrack for melbourne as a kid? Give me a break.

Carlton is meeting today to discuss handing over number 1 or 3 pick plus fevola in exchange for judd.

Essendon is set to offer pick 6 plus any 2 of ryder, jetta or gumbleton.

Collingwood/Eddie is preparing to make Judd the king of williamstown.

Unless dean bailey is prepared to make drastic trades, you guys are not in the ball park for chris judd. and bailey wont do it because he is from the mark williams coaching academy (like alistair clarkson) where a team is built up by its youngsters, not 1 star player. Believe me, you guys will be much better off without judd.

(and yes, I am expecting much verbal abuse for writing this, but I'm just telling the truth. I know it hurts sometimes)

Peace.

99% of ppl agree on this board that of course he's not going to be traded for a 2nd round pick. Yes our team did finish bottom 4 this year but it was a year which was ruined by injury it is still capable of making the ifnals next year.

To get Judd would you give pic 4 and trade with the Dogs for pic 5?

and secondly

What player or players would come into your calculations for pic 5?

Demons could trade a combination from Bate, Robbo, Rivers and Sylvia to get another high draft pick. They could package that with the number 4 pick to get Judd. If Brad Ottens cost Geelong 2 first round picks, then Judd will cost 2 very high picks, with some secondary players thrown into the trade for balancing purposes.

I hope the Demons get him. It'll be great for the game.

Dees need pick 4+ another high pick to get Judd. Essendon has pick 6. What would you guys give Essendon for pick 6, keeping in mind you'd almost certainly get Judd with that combo. (Players like Johnstone and Robbo are not viable options as they are old and dons are rebuilding.)

I couldnt agree more...

what else does a man who has done it all in AFL by the age of 24, got left to do.... one thing comes to mind and 1 thing one, to follow ur childhood dream and play for the team u went for, in hope to win a flag with them...

if money isnt an issue, i think its a grentuee we will get him...

Re: Judd

Bullshit. The obsession with dropping everything just to get him is sad. If there's a workable deal then take it but if it means ending up with a great midfield and no attack or defence then count me out.
I agree with you there Super if the right deal can be made great, but we cant get carried away after all he is just one man.

Strange how people can't understand that!

Pick 4 in a weak draft and one of Robbo, Bruce or Trav, plus any of Chris Johnson, Brad Miller, Mark Jamar or Ryan Ferguson (who are worth very little) should be the maximum the club should give, and I'm not even sure about that.

Re: Judd

What if we traded up to another top ten pick (7/8 etc..) and gave that plus Johnstone and Johnson?

Not going to happen anyway because Dick Pratt will let Judd teabag him if it means getting his signature on paper, but it's still worth a shot.

The West Coast eagles want 2 round one draft picks for Judd preferably 2 in the top 10.
Here's a trade proposal i found earlier which i thought worked well for all involved.
Essendon has the number 6 pick but don't have the players to land Judd without trading away our kids. So that puts Essendon out of the race because they don't want to lose their kids.
Essendon trades their number 6 pick to melbourne for one of your midfielders for example Nathan Jones or McLean plus your second round pick.
Melbourne then trades the 2 first round picks to west coast for Judd
Do you think this is a fair trade for all involved.
Melbourne gets Judd
Essendon Improves its Midfield without trading away its youth
West coast Eagles Get 2 top ten draft picks for Judd

Beggars can't be choosers but McLean and Jones are just a handful of players that we consider completely untouchable
